Good Lord I knew I stopped reading for a reason. I really have nothing against Sexy Redd, I like some of her songs just fine, but as “serious music publication” claiming her album is one of the best 100 rap albums is true madness.

will probably average out the numbers between the albums on both lists and see what that looks like.

A Kanye album would probably win and it’d probably annoy me more than any other list haha

Lupe's great! don't think I'd put him in my goat list, probably top 100 of 21st century though

 

The chorus list would be all the POS albums listed 15 times

 

I just realized they put bad bunny in here lol I didn’t even consider that album rap I consider it reggaeton

 

yeah, and once you open the door to rap-adjacent and international genres like that, it makes little sense to only include that one album as the outlier.

 

Damn every time you guys share a detail about this list it gets worse

 

Tbf Bad Bunny does rap on it… a little… I think…

 

The good thing about that initial list is that it’s reminded me how good The Infamous is.

 

but no way that Bad Bunny album is the best reggaeton album of all time (I haven't heard it but my point still stands)

 

I don't think it beasts out Illmatic but it's right there, not a bad #1 pick

 

And Reggaeton really isn’t the logical first choice when “broadening” such a list. Also like you said, if such a list goes beyond English, this really shouldn’t be the only entry. Of course I know none of them have ever listened to, say, IAM - L’ecole du micro d’argent, so it is what it is.

 

Yeah, the lack of any international rap is a bit rubbish. Could have had maybe MC Solaar, SCHA DARA PARR, London Posse…

 

should listen just cause it’s generally a good album but I wouldn’t say it’s the best in the genre yeah

 

Put in cardi b invasion of privacy over sexy redd too cause the cultural impact of that album was insane compared to sexy redd unless they considering it a pop album

YHLQMDLG, Un Verano Sin Ti and his newest are all the essential releases from for me personally
