looks to follow the exact formula of the original when it comes to characters. Not sure that I like that. Will give it a shot though.
I’ll be watching mostly for Red and the guest appearances of the old cast. Leia is the only new cast that doesn’t seem annoying
They seemed to cast Leia really well, but the rest of the cast seems super off. They also just seemed to be going for making them really, really dumb for some reason.
I thought that was old footage of Eric until it cut to Red I'll probably love this. I just hope the rest of the new cast is good, but also echoing everyone's thoughts that Leia is instantly likeable/less annoying than the others lol but we haven't seen them yet so who knows
Definitely feels a lot like That 70s Show still imo. Just in the 90s lol. I'm having fun with it so far
I watched the first 2 episodes. The first was okay. The 2nd makes me not even want to continue watching it but I probably will anyways. Got to see it through
IGN gave it a 7 and said the show relies too heavily on the old cast and everyone's like "yeah, but that's what we want" haha
If Eric and some of the old cast didn’t have small appearances I wouldn’t have bothered watching the first episode
Feels like a true continuation of the show. Haven’t watched the OG in years, but this feels the same vibe to me. Same humor. I’m in. Wrapping up the second episode now.
I’m enjoying it for the most part, but I’ve got to say I was a little shocked that in episode three they went with Leia’s first kiss being the old “ha ha assault is funny” trope that I kinda thought we’d retired here in the year of our lord 2023? The kid is straight up repeatedly telling her to stop and then she plants one on him and it’s played off as a fun gag to the cheers and laughter of the audience. I don’t know, as soon as that happened my wife turned to me and said “uh that’s assault. Like I can’t believe they wrote that in here.” Just weird. I’m enjoying seeing the old cast members again though. Fez was solid and hopefully the hordes of angry fans can rest easy now knowing that Jackie and Fez did not last. One thing that does surprise and disappoint me is that, purely based on my own reading of the trailers and the cast’s performances, I kind of got the vibe that Leia and Gwen would turn out to be a romantic pairing but, from what I’ve already heard about how the season ends, that’s not the case. Disappointed by that overall because, of everyone else in the cast she’s paired with, Leia’s got the most chemistry with Gwen. Guess I also sort of thought it would be a whole “life is a circle” kind of thing where once again a Forman falls in love with the next door neighbor. And in a way I guess that kind of might happen but not with the character I expected.
Yeah I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did. Watched the first six episodes in a day. It’s 100% just a nostalgia trip for if you loved That 70’s Show, but that’s fine.
The kids grow on you as the season goes on, nowhere near the chemistry of the original but still a good watch. Kitty and Red haven't lost a step, hope for more Eric, Jackie and Kelso if there's a season 2.
Watched the first four episodes. I’m liking it and I can see some of the kids really being enjoyable once they’re more matured as characters. Every Red and Kitty scene is great.
Yeah, and it seems like that’s all the first season was meant to be but in a good way. The producers knew what they were going for and did it. Introducing new teenagers while giving us enough of what we’ve wanted (to know what the original cast is doing years later) is a winning formula.
I’m happy this exists and hope it gets renewed. I get a big stupid grin on my face every time the OG cast make appearances
Heck yea, looking forward to it. Really enjoyed the new cast. Some great callbacks, short episodes, fun watch for sure.
