Giving this a bump now that there are more people frequenting. This is a great album.

 

Definitely check it out. She really pushes herself and stretches her sound. Not sure if you're friends with Sean (deadkid) but he's a big fan of this as well.

Another solid album from her! No automatic standouts like "Holy Roller" but it's good throughout

 

Love love love this album. The contributions from Merrill Garbus are obvious, but they blend well with Thao's sound. The production is just great. The only other album I'm really familiar with from her is the last one, but I was struck by how raw the lyrics are on here. I can't relate to much of what she sings about in relation to her father, but this remains one of the most affecting albums I've listened to so far this year. Ending the album with "Endless Love" is really smart, given how it encapsulates the hope and love that are seen throughout the album and then the wish to just not have to deal with any of it.

 

Yeah from a purely sonic standpoint this is one of the best things I've heard this year. And then you get into lyrical content and it really elevates everything.

 

Meticulous Bird is my song of the year so far

 

I enjoy this, but I think the last album is leaps and bounds better, so far

 

Found this on itunes, of all places, and I've been in love with it as well as the other albums ever since.

I am honestly so obsessed right now, like, I'm trying to hype myself up for the Boygenius concert next week by listening to all of them (as the group and individually), but all I want to do is listen to Thao.
