Do you take receipts to stores, find the items on the receipt in-store, take these items to returns/exchanges and get money for them?

usually just do reward clubs/punch cards/points for purchases type of stuff so like if I find a receipt in the parking lot for say

so like one of my favorite restaurants is Freebirds and they have a rewards club thing so you get 1 point per $1 spent on your receipt. I scan my receipts and if I happen to find any other receipts laying around on the floor, counter, parking lot I'll add that to my account too.

same thing with like Best Buy, JC Penney, Cici's, pei wei, chili's, dunkin donuts.

I've done it for like 13 years, that's how I bought my first tv from best buy, just saved up $1100 worth of points. took about a year.

My goodness. The dedication. I know that Best Buy does their rewards program. Is that what you were doing? Claiming those purchases on your rewards account?

I figured that they would track those purchases back to different cards or even be purchases in which someone used their rewards account in getting it.

you'd think they would...

now they limit it on their website to 2 transactions per 30 days or something like that.

also people in el paso throw their trash all over the parking lot and thinking back on that is pretty bad. in Austin I don't see nearly as many receipts or general trash all over the place.

I think Kmart/sears changed their reward system like 8 years ago solely because of me. haha. used to be able to add transactions to your account but it didn't ask for anything that was specific to the receipt except for the sequential transaction number so you could do this for every transaction. was a godsend at the time because we were broke and wife needed professional clothes to go be a teacher. only lasted for about 2 months before they added a random number to the receipt that you had to enter. haha.
