I want to go see it again, but to buy 2 tickets for the movies is more than just buying this on digital to own. Will probably just make a fire at home after Christmas eve dinner and relax on the couch watching it with my lady. We loved it the first time around.

 

So I never finished this movie because life, and then I went on a vacation, but I finally picked up where I left off. I just got to that scene, and honestly, I found it funnier than I expected. Yeah, it’s fucked up, but at least it’s more ridiculous than just shooting at a bunch of people; similarly to T2, so far my least favorite part has been him taking a gun out at the bar. The gun violence in these movies bothers me a lot and aside from the realness of it I think a lot of is because it feels beneath the movies? Like..Damien Leone has shown he’s more creative than that. It’d be like if Freddy Kruger showed up in someone’s dream and instead of anything fun or interesting he just shot them point blank.

The Christmas setting is doing a lot for this movie. I thought some of T2 was fun before it got to be too much, but this feels slightly more effortless in that regard.

 

On another note, I have my table lamp syncing with the movie which is kinda fun lol

 

I can honestly really easily picture Freddy Krueger just shooting a guy outright

 

I guess I could, but it’d seem extremely lazy in the context of that franchise!
