This definitely seems like much more of a mental block than a skill thing. Obviously the big four are better than the rest but Raonic seems like he doesn't even believe he can win.
It seems only Stan (and maybe delPo) don't have this block. Berdych, Ferrer, Gasquet, Tsonga... All of them should've had better results than they ever did.
I wish someone like Monfils had that extra whatever to make him good enough to win slams, because he always plays every single point like he's about to win the championship.
That wasn't as bad as Cilic-Nishikori at the USO a couple years ago, but it has to be the least entertaining slam final since then.
I actually completely forgot too until I saw this tweet and didn't get the joke, then remembered "oh yeah, that actually happened"
Having to play DelPo in the first round is brutal. Hope he can get his ranking higher in the next year or so and be back in the top 32 where he belongs.
I was really hoping for a Williams Gold Medal match, but this draw seems a lot more even than the men's.
Flipkens had such a lot of fun tonight. It was great to see her emotions. Venus seemed off. Not sure if it's the court conditions or sickness.
Was hoping Bencic could go far in this tournament but unluckily she drew Serena and crashed out. Hopefully Federer can somehow have a dream run and get number eighteen.
