Was really hoping that Thiem would win his first. Very surprised to see him struggle this mightily. Truly hoping he can turn it around. On the other hand, kudos to Zverev for starting off hot.
Of course, nary 2 minutes after I make that post Zverev misses an easy set point volley. Thiem looks to be getting better and I would not put it past Zverev choking this set away.
oh my god zverev... how do you come back and continue to be a tennis player after this? Up two sets and a break. edit: nvm, he redeemed himself. I thought he was gonna just quit after the first game.
I really feel for Zverev. I hope he comes back stronger because of this. absolutely thrilled for Thiem.
Unreal match. Final set swung back and forth exhaustingly. Pleased for Thiem but that's got to sting horridly for Zverev.
First person to come from two sets down and win in a Grand Slam final for a long time. Congrats Thiem!
So, uh, Zverev played his match today even though he had a bad fever and shortness of breath...and he hasn’t been tested for covid in 5 days. Seems like the French Open is being run really well. *eye roll*
Definitely notice that there’s more of a crowd and the players aren’t required to wear masks nearly as much smh
Drives me nuts that they have a roof but just refuse to use it. The roof should have been closed from the start. So stupid. This is a QF for a grand slam. Let’s get the best quality tennis we can. I don’t want to see them battling wind and rain.
