Cool, but I’m not going to pay for a movie that has already been ruined for me, especially at a premium. same day VOD? That’s a different story.
Yeah I mean at this point if they’re going to put it out in other countries early and it’s not going to be available everywhere in the US then they should just put it out on VOD the same day. I’d rather have a compromised first viewing and not be spoiled than have to avoid the internet entirely for an indeterminate amount of time.
this is what I keep leaning back on when people say nolan isn't involved in the decision making. he pretty clearly is the only reason they're still committed to a theater release.
i truly think he is. i think he seems obsessed with being the movie to open everything back up, and the longer he waits, the more likely it’ll be something else. idk, maybe that’s just me, but it certainly seems like the vibe given off in press
I’m kind of losing interest in seeing Tenet tbh. I was ready for it in the summer but I wouldn’t even care if they delayed until next year now.
I’m just hesitant to trust the press given that they love vilifying everyone other than the studios whenever they possibly can. A story about Christopher Nolan trying to throw his weight around and force the movie into theaters too soon is way juicier than a story about how WB made the ultimate decision on their own, regardless of the influence of a director.
There’s an IMAX theater in St Augustine down here in Florida (COVID central) that’s been showing movies for the past month or so. They did the whole Dark Knight trilogy recently and are planning on doing Inception for the ten year anniversary. It’s not just Nolan films they’re showing either. I don’t know what the theater is doing for safety measures.
