we need to just accept 2020 is donezo in terms of movies/live music and find a way to support theaters/venues and workers until they can reopen sometime next year.
People in America will still see it when other countries do. As soon as it launches overseas a pirated version will be out in no time.
I'm sure that's not what anyone would want given how piracy is just an unfortunate reality at this point, but does anyone really feel like it's safe to go to movie theaters in the US right now...??? You couldn't pay me to go see Tenet in a movie theater right now, and I am a HUGE Nolan fan and I cannot wait to see this movie.
Is piracy really as rampant as people think? It feels like less and less people know how to torrent these days.
I mean, I'm not super technical or anything and I don't torrent but I always know of a handful of sites at any given time where you can go and watch most theatrically released movies in at least decent quality almost right away as soon as they're released. Sometimes even in great HD quality.
Yeah countries where it is safe should be allowed to see it. The US deserves to be punished for not taking this seriously. Other countries have to wait for big tentpoles that America got first all the time.
the states coulda been where other countries are by now if we didn't suck so much. kills me to say but maybe this really is the right call to defer it others
I wouldn’t be surprised if certain US markets get it before others if they can get COVID under control.
Fuck that. I haven't had human contact in four months, I've seen ONE friend in person and we sat outside 10 feet apart. Put this on VOD when it opens overseas or I'm going to pirate it. Selfish pieces of shit have already ruined most of my year, not letting this get fucked up for me.
