Yeah, like, I don't want this movie premiering on VOD. Nor should it premiere on VOD. Just delay it until next May and let it get the proper release it deserves. Or, if they're worried about the optics of such a lengthy delay, at least set it for, like, late November/early December and then delay it again at that time.
Hmmm nolan rankings? 1. the dark knight 2. inception 3. batman begins 4. interstellar 5. the dark knight rises 6. dunkirk 7. prestige haven’t seen the others
Curious why you have The Prestige so low. Mine are: Prestige > Interstellar > TDK/Inception > the others
The Prestige and Interstellar are great for watching over and over again. The direction, acting, music, plot, etc... The Dark Knight and Inception are good but I don’t feel they hold up past the first two or so watches. His others just didn’t do much for me in general.
My favorites are probably Inception & The Dark Knight Rises, which probably says a lot about my tastes, lol. Honorable mention to Insomnia, which I haven’t seen in forever & don’t really remember, but I’m pretty sure I liked it more than a lot of his more popular films.
The Dark Knight The Prestige Memento Inception Dunkirk Batman Begins Insomnia Following The Dark Knight Rises Interstellar
elite: tdk, prestige great: batman begins memento, dunkirk solid: inception, tdkr good: insomnia, following average/hit-or-miss: interstellar
The Prestige The Dark Knight Memento Interstellar Inception The Dark Knight Rises Batman Begins Dunkirk Following Insomnia Only one I don't love is Insomnia.
I think Uk cinemas were pinning their reopening on this. Odeon reopen on 6th July and one of their films they are showing the first week is Inception, surely building to a double bill with tenet.
I was super disappointed when it came out & nitpicked it a lot. But, while it does have some decisions that I’d consider mistakes, it’s grown on me a ton over the years. It’s the Nolan Batman film that brings me the most joy.
It’s funny, I saw Interstellar in IMAX w/ one of my friends. At the time, he liked it more than I did, but our opinions didn’t seem that far apart. Yet somehow, over the years, my dissatisfaction for the film & his adoration for it have just grown & grown. Every once in a while, our disagreement on the film will come up, & it’ll take a second to remember that we shared that experience because of how differently we remember it.
Not to hijack this thread even more but what are the issues you (or anyone else here) have with Interstellar?
It just kinda lost me towards the end. I don't remember any particular individual choice that I thought was definitively the wrong one or whatever. But, after getting through some surprisingly touching moments & some dope spectacle, as the film went on... I just found myself slowly caring less & less. How late in the movie was that spinning action sequence? I think that's the last sequence I remember enjoying? Wait, no, the black hole scene was cool in IMAX, too. But, all the story resolution afterwards just kinda left me flat for whatever reason. Especially the final reunion w/ Murph.
