I know it’s under 2 hrs, but for how it’s structured & what it is, it’s too exhausting, & I just don’t like it. It’s well made, of course, but it’s 100% not for me.
Thanks for the reply -I always appreciate your insight on movies so I was curious to hear what you thought.
I consider myself a pretty big fan of Christopher Nolan's work. I think The Prestige is the perfect Christopher Nolan film. Inception is fucking awesome, but for someone who loves The Prestige as much as I do it kinda feels a tiny bit like him performing the same trick again only with a much larger budget in a much fancier theater with flashier backdrops and costumes and trappings and all that. I still love Inception though. It's just so much damn fun. Interstellar doesn't really work for me, but I would still take a highly personal passion project that ends up a miss over a focus-grouped, studio-mandated, four-quadrant pleasing product ten times out of ten. Also, absolutely cannot wait to see Tenet and as much as I would love for that to be in a movie theater, unless a vaccine comes out like next week and America's situation RADICALLY changes and improves I will not be setting foot inside a movie theater, even wearing an N95.
I will wait as long as it takes to see this for the first time in its proper venue (IMAX). They can hold it back as long as they need to.
Shit, the way it's looking, August is going to brutal for covid here. This movie needs to release digitally now or wait until..I don't know, either December 2020 or May 2021?
If WB wants to bleed themselves dry on marketing a movie in 2 week intervals for a year, fine. But that money would be better off invested in educating brainwashed dipshit cultmember Americans in the importance of masks and social distancing if they want to have their movie released to a living and breathing public audience any time soon.
