Wild how big of a loss WB is going to take on this one. Have to imagine it was pretty expensive to make. Oh well, they want to flush all that money down the toilet what are we supposed to do to stop them.
That headline is a bit misleading - the synopsis states he is the Protagonist (capital P noted). I would think Nolan is a little better than that. Or, it could be some type of mind melting plot twist haha.
Honestly, I don't think they are going to lose money on this. People are going to flock to theaters when its open - a lot of people (especially in the states) have decided this is over which is scary.... I'm def going to need to find time in the morning or on a weekday for this. I will not be going during peak times.
Nowhere near as many people will want to take that risk as people might think. Not even the Shitbag in the White House was able to get enough of his own brainwashed cultists out to come out and see him in person over the weekend. And those people don't even believe that COVID is a serious threat. Getting people to go to the theater right now is going to be a tough sell.
No, what the TikTokers actually achieved was a total disruption of the campaign's ability to collect voter data from people who signed up to go. They completely polluted the data set. You actually didn't need to sign up for a ticket online, people were able to show up and walk in. That's why they were able to say they had over 800,000 reservations for a venue that doesn't hold nearly that much.
If anything, there's a chance in the film his name is never mentioned, in which case outside of the movie he'd then be referred to as the protagonist
Get a Special Version of the Hamilton Watch from Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet” Good news, you can get the official Tenet watch for a brisk $2,095.
Super expensive watches will never make sense to me; the most illogical luxury purchase you could possibly make
That’s the point. It’s like that $1,000 iPhone app that does nothing. Buying it just shows everyone that you’re so rich that you don’t care to drop a huge amount of money on something inconsequential.
Yeah I get the symbol of what it means; it's just expensive watches stand out among lux things to buy as the most illogical of them all. If I was that rich, I'd much rather put my money into a more expensive suit, as generally it'll look more stylish, be more comfortable, etc. With an expensive watch, it won't tell the time any better, and generally they actually look worse than cheaper watches
Sure, I totally get all of that but then I’d say that them even looking good is subjective or not even important when it comes to showing off a crazy purchase. It’s ridiculous either way, lol
I rewatched Inception last night for the first time in years & was surprised how much I loved it, considering how much my tastes have shifted away from Nolan’s sensibilities. Feel pretty comfortable calling it my favorite Nolan film. It’s just so... fun. A fun sci-fi heist w/ a fun cast. Not a fan of most of the stuff w/ Mal, outside of the idea of a deceased loved one as a Freddy Krueger type because of unresolved guilt. The actual story there is probably my least favorite element. Love the visual effects, which is such a dull, obvious observation, lol. But, its aesthetic has aged incredibly well. Would love to see it on a big screen again (when there’s not a pandemic). Speaking of boring observations, the score is also dope, of course. And, my favorite cast members were easily the curious Ellen Page & the playful Tom Hardy. Revisiting that film just made me bummed that, however this tension between film industry & global pandemic plays out, this new one is unlikely to be out at a time when I’m comfortable sitting in a theater for a few hours. I’m not a fan of Interstellar or Dunkirk, but this looks like fun Nolan again. Maybe I’ll get to go to, like, a drive in or something. *shrug*
did the same recently, had been at least 4-5 years since i last watched Inception and completely fell in love with it again, and have been wanting to watch it again soon.
Oh yeah, one more Inception thought: How did people think the ending was ambiguous? lol. I forget what my take was at the time, since I wasn’t good at watching movies then. But, the point of the ending is so obviously that he’s leaving the dream stuff behind for reality. It’s not open ended; it’s so closed that we don’t have to wait for the top to fall to confirm it anymore. Right?
I haven't seen it in a while, but I always took it as: It doesn't matter whether the totem falls or not, because he's finally happy wherever he is.
inception is one movie I can't watch again. Feels like half of it is just explaining to the audience what is happening and it's so tedious
Not to pull the thread off topic but any specifics on not liking Dunkirk? I absolutely feel you on Interstellar. To me that was Nolan swinging for the fences and just coming up with a single.
