Still trying to figure out how all these people learned that Christopher Nolan became the head of WB and, thus, can decide when the movie is coming out. I haven’t read that news anywhere myself.
I’m not at all surprised. People around here are out and about like the corona virus isn’t even a thing anymore.
Even with cases going up everywhere that’s reopened, there doesn’t seem to be any worry from a lot of people, especially here in TX. The sad reality of our country. We couldn’t handle a couple of months of sacrifice and uncomfortability, so now we’ve just accepted/decided that we’d rather get sick/die than give up sitting for a meal at a Cheesecake Factory. Of course people will blame the protests because that’s the easy thing to do. Ugh I hate everything.
Yeah can’t wait for all the MAGA people who denied there being a virus to start blaming the spike in cases over protesting. Will rip my hair out.
but really, why did it honestly take wb until virtually the last second to move things over? if they did all this sooner they'd have had more of a free spot on a future date that OTHER studios would stray from after seeing tenet's reservation on (let's just say) thanksgiving weekend
What an incredibly bold prediction you made there. I, for one, cannot believe that it came true. Perhaps the most shocking development of 2020.
Hypothetically, let's say this opens July 31. Your area is seeing declining cases. You're young and not at increased risk. Are you seriously not going?
I really want to see this. Having worked at a theater for years and knowing my coworkers attention to detail, especially during busy times...nah, I wouldn't rush out to it. I would, however, spend $30 to rent it and watch it in my bed.
That's totally fair. I constantly wonder if my being in a grocery store, eight-ten hours a day, five days a week, has completely blunted my fear of this thing. Which it shouldn't, and I'm totally aware of that. We just had a huge outbreak at one of our sister stores about twenty miles away last week.
my question is will it still be fun going to a movie if I have to wear a mask and go at an off time so it isn't crowded and ideally be like the only one there and I'm not sure if that's the case haha
I think movie theaters are one of the worst places to go during an incredibly contagious pandemic. It's a packed cube of recycled air. There's no outside air flow. You're sitting in a seat occupied by a total stranger just a few hours previous. People in theaters are naturally sloppy, they are palming popcorn into their mouth and seemingly half of it ends up in the seats and the floor, probably after it touched their mouth. They leave their trash, including cups and straws they've had in their mouth. They leave used tissues in cup holders. They leave cups of chew spit. All of that is basically cleaned with a spray bottle of water and a dirty rag, usually in an extremely half assed way by a teenager who doesn’t give a fuck because they aren’t paid well and customers are routinely assholes to them. I’m sure most restaurants and grocery stores are probably just as bad, but they are necessary.
The drive-in about 30 minutes from Portland is showing Jaws/The Goonies double feature this weekend. I need to get a fucking car.
Definitely want to check out a drive-in but the ones around Dallas are pretty far from me and are doing showings later (after 9pm), due to obvious reasons.
