The most annoying thing about suggesting (baselessly, lol) that the films could be connected is that it shows just how much certain online movie fans want franchises & universes instead of just good movies. Like, there’s nothing wrong w/ that kinda thing happening. It can be fun having fleshed out fictional worlds. If Nolan revealed one day that a whole bunch of his stories share the same world in his mind, I’d be like, “ok, cool.” But, the post-Avengers world has really become a little too hungry for that kinda thing, to the detriment of just telling a single good story, or creating a single good piece of art, or going on a single good ride.
I wouldn’t mind them being connected. It wouldn’t hurt anything and more from the inception world is always welcomed.
Lol The biggest movie-theater trade group expects 90% of the global theatrical market to be open by the release of 'Tenet' in July
If theaters are half capacity but Tenet is the only new movie to go see maybe it’ll do alright? They seem set on this coming out in July.
What am I missing here? Why aren’t they just delaying Tenet until everything is “better” or whatever? It’s going to make a fuckton of money regardless.
I mean, if they limit capacity but also don’t have a lot of competing movies & have like most of the screens in theaters playing this movie, I could see it do well. Plus, fewer releases also means longer legs. Doesn’t mean I think it’s a good idea, & doesn’t mean I’ll go, but I could see it working out for the film & the studio.
