Anyway yearly check in, how has the show been? Anything good recently? I am now 7 years behind so I don't think I'll ever catch up. I miss Walt but Bry was just too insufferable to listen to.
Damn, RIP Tim. The show is good. Bryan still says some insufferable shit but Walt still makes up for it.
Bry has gotten a lot better, or let’s say less outspoken. Overall the show is still mostly good, better than it was a couple if years ago. Tim was mostly on the Patreon though. Some of the best stuff was with him.
The summer camp episode from last week was pretty good. Sexy Lawyer went to a weekend summer camp reunion with Git ‘Em.
He probably doesn’t know Sexy Lawyer either haha. But yeah that episode was good. This week’s episode too for that matter. They were playing a new game.
He’s a lawyer ant who helped Walt with some stuff, and Walt and Gitem kept talking about how hot he was, hence Sexy Lawyer. He’s now a reoccurring guest (and apparently Gitems friend now). They now call him Johnny Law though because he didn’t like Sexy Lawyer.
This episode was classic TESD imo. An enjoyable and funny listen. Dont think you need much back story than you already have for it. I actually think its one of my favourite episodes in a heck of long time. Right amount of ball busting but also understanding git em' Genuinely makes me laugh if i tried to explain the episode to someone with no TESD knowledge. "So... i listened to an hour and half long podcast about a guy who held to ransom a podcast domain name, became a main character on said podcast, going to stay at his childhood summer camp, with a sexy lawyer. "
The Halloween episode is a lot of fun. I'm annoyed they used AI to recreate the Unsolved Mysteries voice but at least they got some humor out of explaining how shitty it was to use. But god damn does it really show how shit BJ's brain is, and why he's so easily susceptible to all the right wing nonsense he reads. Legit was just like "well it was Aliens because the scenario said it was aliens." Dude lacks any critical thinking skills.
Dear lord, haven't listened much in years but for whatever reason I have been getting random reddit notifications on the TESD subreddit and people keep posting about how Gitem is going to be the end of this show. I know subreddits for things like podcasts can always breed this type of very negative attitude so does anyone still listen to the current weekly eps? I guess people are theorizing Q cannot stand Gitem and Gitem is taking advantage of Walt? No idea what the fuck is going on.
I still listen. They have enabled gitem for a decade, and he has been living in their office/studio and his mess and hoarding came with him. Walt (and Q) have been asking him for a year to clean out a closet/room that’s filled with garbage. He hasn’t done it. Q said he could get high profile guests (Brooke Shields, Wrestlers, etc), but wouldn’t bring them there due to the filth.
As a listener, I find all the Git Em stuff entertaining. I would be incredibly frustrated if I had to deal with him in day to day life though. I'd rather hear anything about Git Em over Johnson's soft ass right wing anti woke bitching any day. BJ is what's killing TESD and for what it's worth, I would have zero interest in Q bringing any of his famous friends on the show. I pretty much only listen for Walt at this point, and anytime there's a guest on he barely even talks
I still listen and it’s nonsense. People still don’t understand that they play up stuff like this for the show. It’s like a storyline right now. Gitem and Walt at this point are like the heart of TESD, the only thing Q ever does now is plug his weird Key West events and Bry is either pissy or what feels like sedated.
I find the pod a fairly entertaining listen. I do think some folk in Reddit maybe need to stop listening to it if it bothers them this much. Not sure I can endure another trial of git em run (all be it I found it funny)
I'm a red bank area resident and I feel like the pod began its decline when they moved to airport plaza. Also Ming is just as if not more annoying irl than hes made out to be on the pod. Not mean or anything, just the tryhardest tryhard ever
They did good stuff for Patreon since then (some of the extended cast is fun), though overall the Patreon is too video heavy, I like actual podcasts, not video
The latest podcast is pretty good. They have a guest on and they do like a Day 0 version of the podcast covering a lot of the history of the show. The one bit i am surprised i didnt actually know was that Mike Zapsic replaced Q on Comic Book Men.
First ep back in close to a year, for no particular reason, and it had me from the jump. The mental image of Walt Doordashing is incredible.
