what happened to this band, did they throw away their guitars? The Con was great music. This band had such Singer/Songwriter potential. My gf picked up the guitar because of these gals, and its heartbreaking to hear that they've lost that inspiring spirit.
They have six records with guitars lol if you want that you can listen to those or millions of other albums with guitars
I like both these songs, but I want to love them. Hopefully they grow on me in the context of the album.
I hope so, either that or another silly person that thinks you need guitars to make "real music". What a silly term that is.
man, tough having opinions these days. I can't be the only person on this site who's mad about this bands change in sound. Way to shame me guys! And guitars=real music is a real ignorant point to pull out of what I was saying.
I have no problem with your opinion on the band's new music it's just ridiculous to respond to that guys comment with "Ok, I guess ill go ahead and die along with the rest of real music in this world.". Kind of hard not to see the guitars=real music thing based on that. Even if that's not what you meant though it's still a pretty ridiculous statement.
I found them around the time of So Jealous, then went back and listened to everything, ultimately liking them starting with If It Was You. So yea, I liked them during their instrument days along with some of that "toy" sounding electronics. Then something happened, call it "appealing to the masses". They have to make money, and that's their right and kudos to them for becoming huge after already have a loyal following. Just not my thing anymore.
Like who you like. But any time you start talking about what is or isn't "real music", everybody's stock in your opinions is going to plummet dramatically.
I took your meaning as no guitars = not real music due to the above quotes. Fairly easy to come to that conclusion from what you said. I apologise if I was wrong.
Why is "pop star" being used like some kind of insulting dirty word? They've been doing this for 10+ years and are gaining widespread recognition and appreciation. In what world should anyone be disappointed in what they've accomplished
Hey man, no problem. I turned into a dick quick, because I posted an opinion and got a snarky reply. I replied back with a snarky reply that I knew would ruffle feathers. I shouldn't have posted a minority opinion in a thread where there's passionate fans. I too am a passionate fan, though disgruntled, and was looking to see if anyone was as jaded as I. But to call me a troll account. That craps so immature.
See now I would make the same argument I'm making for T&S as I would for say, Fall Out Boy. Call it selfish opinion, but I feel like the old sound was better and more accessible than the new sound. Now I'm not against bands changing and evolving. But when it's a devolution, imho, I will express myself.
not immature if I think your posts seem that ridiculous. I was being serious, I thought you were just saying random shit to annoy people and I'm honestly not sure if you were or not since you haven't clarified that comment. As I've said though I don't think anyone minds that you don't like their more electropop sound. There's been other people who don't like it too and that's fine.
I'm not trying to complain about you having an opinion. I think that often time people don't think about what goes into making more I guess we'll say digital music. It takes the same amount of talent and actually a very different skill set. One isn't more valuable than the other. There's room for both. If you don't like it that's your right and completely understandable, but I don't think it's fair to undercut the hard work and skill that went into this music just because it doesn't sound the same
So your mad that I said real music is dying. As if I don't think this is real music. I'm sorry that statement came out in emotional frustration, but it resonates with my opinion. If something isn't stated as opinion, it doesn't mean I meant it as general fact and wish to argue it as such. It's a relative fact to me though, and you can't change that. I don't like this music.
I never undervalued the talent in electronic music or these girls. You guys are mixing things up. real music(imo) can still be dying and these girls can still make talented (Iyo)electronic music all in the same universe.
