I'm 50/50 on this...vocals sound oddly muffled to me. Nothing hooks me but I'm sure I'll be listening to it non-stop in a few days.

 

Hmm... Liked it a lot more the second listen. Nice groove in the chorus.

 

Only listened to it once, but I'm indifferent about it for now.

 

Much more excited to hear U turn.

 

It's wonderful to hear their voices again.

But.... I fully agree with @SpyKi , it feels exactly like a Heartthrob B-side, there's nothing here that interests me. I really, really, really wish this wasn't the case, but I don't care for this song.

Liking the new song so far, and I love the way the chorus comes to a stop almost before going back into the verse.
I agree with everyone else saying it sounds similar to Heartthrob but I'm still excited and think the album will be great.

 

Very excited to have new music finally. Is "Boyfriend" the lead single or a promo single like when they released "I'm Not Your Hero" before "Closer"?

 

First Impression: I mean, it's no "Closer," but it's not bad.

How The Rest Of The World Caught Up To Tegan And Sara

 

^Reading that article now, it's really interesting and it is super cool learning so much about them even though I've been listening to them for 10+ years.

I also really like the tidbits about which songs come from which sister (at least primarily, I think they are pretty collaborative these days). That's something I was never able to track to down for Heartthrob, though I have a couple good guesses. I generally end up preferring Tegan songs, so maybe that's why I'm a little cooler on "Boyfriend" than I was hoping.
