Watching them play that song at such an early age after hearing it now all produced im just like.. "Damn, they always just had a knack for songwriting." Part of me is looking at my old demos like... Huh... crazy where you can go with stuff.

 

this was fun. i'm not huge on remixes but these are cool for the most part. love how they support other artists.

More in-depth interview, but yeah, lots of big changes.

Sounds like there will be two albums this year, though. One “reimagining” and one new studio album.

 

this is cool! although to be honest i can't really tell the difference between tegan's songs and sara's songs.

 

Up until Heartthrob I could usually guess with reasonable accuracy if a song was a Tegan song or a Sara song (and most of my favourites tended to be Tegan songs). I think they started co-writing more fulsomely around that time, so that may be why.

Very excited and intrigued by this. Tegan mentions in the newsletter that just went out that Sara's songs on this album are more structurally out-there than her own (and in general compared to their recent output) so will be cool to hear if/how they bring their individual interpretations to the other's songs.

 

Is Still Jealous going to be on CD/Vinyl? I can't find a preorder

 

They've talked about giving away a test press of the album, so I'm guessing they are just waiting until they have the product in hand.

 

Yeah, I'd think it definitely gets a physical release. Otherwise they're leaving money on the table.
