Hyped.

 

If this isn't synth pop like their previous two records - then I am HYPED

 

alright let's not start throwing shade at the absolute fantastic jobs they did with synth pop in their last two albums


but switching things back up again with a concept like this is extremely exciting, I'm very here for this

 

Love it. Such a fun idea and a nice companion to the memoir they're putting out.

Something I've always loved about Tegan and Sara is how all of their albums have had slightly different sonic palettes to them. Heartthrob and Love You To Death included, though to a slightly lesser extent. Going from that sound to something that will (probably) be a lot less polished is at once a pretty daring yet totally believable move from them.

 

So so into this.

 

Tegan and Sara can do no wrong. Really looking forward to this.

 

Can't wait. I love Heartthrob. Couldn't get into Love You To Death, but maybe I should revisit it.

 

I need a single and a tour announcement ASAP.

Pre-ordered the Amoeba vinyl. "Opaque Canary Yellow" sounds nice.

 

I listened to Under Feet Like Ours the other day and it made me unreasonably excited for this album. I like the pop albums but there's just something about brash, gay, guitar music that resonates with me more.

Nostalgic is definitely the first word that pops up for me after listening to that song.

 

I am very into the new song! They're much better singers and work with great musicians/producers at this stage in their career, so this is the rawness of their old stuff combined with the sensibilities of the poppier albums is a win/win for me.
