That's correct! Incredibly excited for this. Just set up a notification on Libby so I can get in the queue for this with my library

i also learned that their very first film, A Self Induced Hallucination, is mistakenly referred to as the first part of the trilogy, but served more as a proof of concept for WAGTTWF, and can be watched here if nobody has seen it (they prefer the extended cut). will probably watch it when i don't have a ton of work to do. my partner and i loved ISTTVG, but i was less enthused by World's Fair, and he outright didn't like it, so idk if he'd be down to watch this one.

we're definitely looking forward to the new one though, considering that we both loved Hannah in Hacks and he's a huge Gillian Anderson fan (between her appearances on Sex Education and The X-Files).

  14. Unrelated, but I'm rewatching Broadcast Signal Intrusion (currently on Prime) and that's a great companion to Schoenbrun's kind of analog, media, and pop-culture based horror. Censor is another one.

  15. World's Fair definitely goes down easier the second time when you know what you're getting yourself into. Fwiw, if I remember correctly, A Self-Induced Hallucination is more of a documentary about slenderman and media consumed in the age of the internet than a glacially-paced narrative about it, like World's Fair. It's also pretty short.
