Really hate what the show became this season but going to miss it all the same. Running it back without Ted will be like the office without Michael Scott
It would be really weird to just continue the show just without Ted. Some sort of spin off could work but most likely not.
I think it could work and I’d be happy to watch, but if it’s really done that’s fine too. I like shows ending with more to do than overstaying their welcome.
I think as an audience we just need to learn to let shit go. Sometimes stories just end. It’s fine. This ended beautifully.
They are absolutely gonna spin one or two shows off it. Apple’s gonna want to keep some tentpoles. I could see AFC Richmond Women’s Team and Ted Lasso Presents The Richmond Way or something. We absolutely do not need them, but streaming services don’t care about that.
I'm honestly unsure what I'd want them to do if it must be kept going. Prior to the last 5 minutes, I would have for sure said I felt like there was room for another season or 2 of this exact show before it would have felt like beating a dead horse. With so many loose ends tied up in the montage though, a spinoff that's really just a season 4 without Ted would feel superfluous, I think. A more true spinoff based around a women's team has more potential to warrant existing at this point, but the floor feels lower. (I'm just picturing an entirely new cast aside from 2 or 3 returning characters and it's so easy to fuck that up, too much potential for the Flanderization of whoever they keep on board as the foundation of the show.) So I don't know. I'd welcome more of the feel good vibe for sure, but beyond that I have a lot of questions.
I mean, if Jason did want to come back/do another season, they could easily fit another season in where Richmond is struggling without Ted, Ted is working on getting his family back together, while also considering going back to Richmond and family agrees to join him, sort of thing. If Jason doesn't come back, I could totally see spin-off where girls' team (with nate coaching them) is the main story and Richmond is the backstory. I am in the camp that I just hope it's all done because it already wrapped up nicely. We don't need anything else. I'd watch a season 4 with Jason, but I likely would not watch a spin-off and/or season 4 w/o Jason.
Yeah if the show does continue and he ever appears again, I hope it's in a very limited capacity. Quick cameo at the end of a season, or a guest appearance for one episode maybe.
1 and 2 are GOATed but I enjoy 3 at about a 7/10 and as my love of Ted Lasso has shown, cheesy and corny doesn’t bother me one bit lol
