I remain stubborn as all hell about it lol Though I do genuinely believe he hasn’t really…done anything worthy of redemption yet. But the last thing this thread needs is another 9 pages on it.
At least we’ve made progress since the season 2 finale. Such a rough time being a Nate Guy that I had to bail til season 3 started
My fiancé and I liked to have long breakfasts in front of the TV on the weekends so I like Ted Lasso being an hour long now lol I don’t care if there is filler content
Another good episode. Loved the Chicago hot dg running gag. Phoebe's birthday party with Jamie showing up was the scene though. Loved that.
Didnt the news reporter say Richmond is on a 10 game win streak? So it seems like there's a big time jump there.
By far the worst episode of the season. Bloated and self indulgent and neither Rebeccas 'you're all little boys' accompanied by Nates violin playing, didnt land for me at all. Add to that a thin and barely there international break plotline and next to no Ted Lasso, this episode was the first dud for me. Everything else in the season has been a 7/10 or above, this was probably a 4.
I kind of think we'll be seeing less of Ted as this is probably their last season with him. This can all be to help kickstart the spin off series.
This is not shot at anyone because this happens everywhere, including in publications, but I have never understood picking apart and judging individual episodes of a series based on certain segments etc. as if they were movies rather than one part of a much bigger whole. It just doesn’t make sense to me given what a series is. With seasons it make more sense I guess.
Each episode can be judged on its own and part of the larger whole. A show with some critical conversations is more interesting than a show with a community following that shuts down any criticism
If you release it weekly, its gonna get reviewed that way. Youre giving people and publications a week to critique what they just saw, compare it to the past context, and theorize ahead. If they dont want each piece commented on individually, release at once.
I follow and participate in most album threads on this site for bands I like, I purposefully have unfollowed most TV show threads on this site aside from a few. It's exhausting.
I guess. Maybe it’s just me because that is not how I watch series at all. Like, I sometimes like or dislike individual episodes I guess, but I’m never picking them apart if that makes sense. Also usually I only dislike episodes of shows I like when they really stray away from whatever the formula/vibe of the show is.
Yeah I’m with this. It’s not really an either/or thing - if episodes are a piece and seasons are a whole, then discussing episodes of a show is no different than discussing acts or scenes from a movie, which people do all the time. Except the show is specifically designed to be consumed in weekly segments. It can be judged both ways
