This past episode is trending to become the lowest ranked episode of the entire series on IMDB. Currently it's a 6.9 (nice) and the lowest of the entire series is Beard After Hours (6.8). Personally thought this last episode was the best of the season.
The Zava storyline is what felt pointless to me. I know it’s to show Jamie becoming a leader but I feel they’ve done that in better ways this season.
Beard After Hours being ranked low shows how dumb people are lol Roy and (to a much lesser extent) Keely are the only characters I feel have really become caricatures in a bad way but they've dialed it back with Roy (and seem like they're heading that direction for Keely)
It's a major pet peeve for me when you can tell the writer's room is telling a joke and not the character and that happens a lot on this show haha
There was some good chemistry between Ted and Michelle but at the same time Michelle also seemed mostly uninterested somehow. I can't tell if they're going to get back together or if Ted might just go home with the hope that they will. Also have a hard time seeing Nate replace Ted in the end. Rebecca and the whole team would have to forgive him which feels like a lot
Beard After Hours is far and away my least favorite episode. Which is wild, because the other “film an extra episode” Christmas episode is in my top 3
Beard After Hours was dumb. I does not fit this show. It’s one of the reasons why I think season 3 is better.
I might be misremembering, but I think they started tie, 6 wins in a row, 7 losses in a row, another loss in the first total football game, then 4 wins in a row. Def wouldn't call it a perfect show or season, but hating the Zava chunk of it feels a bit like 'are you sure you liked this to begin with?' to me. Beard and Xmas eps bug me a lot more in how much they highlight how disjointed season 2 is than either does in the abstract. Season 3 has been sooooo much better in that regard.
beard as a character is great but he’s best as a foil to ted and when they make him a more focal point it’s a whiff why would you want an episode focused on newman/the janitor/etc etc
Give me a Power Rangers style ensemble episode with all of the comic foil sitcom characters getting together to save their friends
