I’ve never wanted to use my mod capabilities more to edit in paragraph breaks to that (very thoughtful) post.
Probably one of my least favorite episodes. Just seemed choppy and the pacing was off. The whole deleting pictures thing was just so strange and seemed dated. The situation with Collin didn’t have any resolution. Would have liked for them to really have addressed that storyline rather than the obvious breakup of Keeley. Seemed out of character for Roy to act the way he did. Not sure what to take of Michelle’s leaving. I didn’t get vibes that they were fighting or arguing. Ted came off as creepy. Didn’t seem like he progressed in his feelings about the situation even though that was the focus of the episode. We are in the homestretch and looks like we know where things are headed with the exception of Rebecca’s storyline.
This show has really fallen off. I knew it was going to happen when they started doubling the length of the shows. Everything about Nate this season is horrible
The episode length criticism is one that I find a little baffling. It’s essentially saying that 70% of the ensemble should’ve remained caricatures instead of fleshed out people with fully realized arcs. We 100% don’t get plot lines like Colin’s coming out arc if you stick to 30 minute plots. I think you can make arguments that some arcs don’t feel as necessary, but I think it belittles the theme of the shows to not say the additional length is necessary. Ted Lasso himself starts as a caricature. Jamie Tartt too. It’s all about how those get subverted.
So, the COO at my company put a big BELIEVE poster right outside his office. Is it a good career move to rip it up and leave it on his desk?
everyone coming in complaining doesn't say anything other than "episodes are too long" or "show is bad now"
Wonder what Jack Grealish did to the hair and make up artist to get this haircut so prominently featured
Lol this has been my favorite season, despite the lack of a certain character being engulfed in flame
I’m about two episodes behind but the criticism on Twitter has been silly. This tweet in particular is doing rounds, people in the replies and quotes criticizing the dialogue. It’s my impression that (a lot of) the dialogue is tongue-in-cheek. The intent is to self-parody its own brand of humor and over-exaggerate to be cornball and cheesy af. That’s what I enjoy about this show. Of course it’s unrealistic—no football team would be unanimously well-versed in Les Mis references, or choose to pillow fight when given a free night in Amsterdam. That’s the fkn joke.
Who’s taking bets on the inevitable chilling out of Barbara? Maybe her and Kee-lah will be besties by the end of the season
That's my impression too. However, I am not completely ruling out that it is wishful thinking that borders on the delusional lol
At the end of season one, no one’s really a caricature and a lot of them feel fleshed out and it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of excess fat on it. I just don’t think the show in this season knows what to do with the time it’s given. There are simpler ways to explore Keeley and Jamie’s arc than having Keely get lovebombed by her investor or Rebecca explore the idea of motherhood than having a weird incident with a psychic or the whole Zava thing in general.
