I think that one thing that bothers me while doing a rewatch is no one stops to check Nate's aggression other than that one time beard calls him out. All season Nate does these mean things and beard and ted just shrug it off.
Honestly? Normally I'm kinda open to hear people out when they're being assholes, but this dude pulled you from the freaking laundry room to the coaching staff of a premier league club, gave you everything you could have ever dreamed of, and you're gonna turn on him over where he keeps a picture or him acknowledging other human beings are alive too? Fuck Nate forever lol
on a rewatch I felt like his responses were just as puzzling as on the first watch but I’m a little surprised people aren’t at least a little forgiving given his pressures at home. “Chronically approval-seeking lad gets big head after whiff of fame” is hardly a uniquely bad or unforgivable trope. that said, I agree one would’ve expected at least beard to do more. Ted seemed ignorant to most of the developments. When Nate apologizes to the team, Ted asks if she should know more and beard shrugs it off. I don’t think most people would’ve pushed it much more after seeing some resolution there.
I kinda read it as speaking to the faith they had in Nate. I genuinely think Beard 95% thought it was handled after the first time and 5% was wrapped up in his own bullshit. By the time it got to Nate leaking the story, it was kinda no coming back at that point.
EDIT: This was the official Season 3 trailer. I guess Apple UK jumped the gun. Here's a Twitter mirror:
Watching this for the first time. Almost done with season 2. This is a fine watchable well written charming comedy Still do not understand the hype for this at all.
