Chrome disabled uBlock Origin... Anyone else use Brave? As I understand it's a fork of Chrome so I'm guessing devtools still work the same there? Curious if it hooks up to the existing password manager - I have LastPass (boo) as well but probably still a good amount of PWs saved in chrome along with all the other account info it stores (CCs, google profile, etc). Was able to get uBlock working again for now but guessing I'll eventually just need to switch browsers.
yeah I used to use it, idk if it's still the case but Adblock plus had some problems like they have a paid whitelist (so companies can pay to bypass). Kind of sketch. If uBlock stops working completely I'll go back though as long as it works. As a side note it's always jarring when ad blockers stop working and I see how horrible using the web is without one lol.
I did switch to Firefox for a while, but it has overloading/slowing issues once you open enough tabs, unlike Chrome (at least for me)

Think I'm going to upgrade my phone from a Galaxy S22 to a Pixel 10 Might go with the Pro model, but that's $9 a month while the base model is free with my trade
I'm very happy with my 9 Pro personally. Totally depends on the person, but the brighter LTPO display with a higher resolution is really nice, as well as more RAM. The telephoto lens is a nice perk, too, but not something I use often. Seems like those are the biggest differences between 10 and 10 Pro too, although a much better front facing camera on the pro (I will say the front facing camera on my 9 Pro is the best selfie camera I've ever used). If those subtle differences aren't a big deal for you, you'll probably be totally happy with the 10. The LTPO panel will probably really help with battery efficiency since the VRR can drop the refresh rate to 1 hz on static content
Does anyone on here use Graphene OS? I'm thinking about switching to that from iPhone for the next phone I get.
yeah I think my next Android might be a Pixel. I'm nearly due for a new phone. Still rocking the Galaxy S21 4.5 years later lol
Oh wow I didn't realize the Pixel 10 now has magsafe and telephoto lens on the base model now. I feel like I would be totally happy with the base model if I needed to upgrade. I do still really like having LTPO and 2160p on the pro model though
So, a huge part of the marketing for the Pixel is all these tools, from conversational photo editing and features like Best Take, to pulling information from emails and photos to make them easy to share by text, to the enhanced 100x zoom on photos. All of these being AI assisted tools, some of which seem genuinely useful. It seems like this is going to be a large part of the marketing approach for new devices for the foreseeable future. As someone who has avoided using things like ChatGPT since people started raising all of the ethical and environmental concerns, I'm not sure what to think about those types of features. Would it be giving in to evil to use them? Is there even a point in buying a new phone if you're not going to use them? Is it just so inevitable that not using them is like refusing to drive because cars are harmful? I mean I need a new phone regardless because the battery life on my S22 is declining, but watching all these reviews has me feeling both interest in how these things could be useful and guilt at the idea of making use of them
Kind of unavoidable at this point, regardless of the phone. Fwiw you can flip Pixel phones to default back to Google Assistant instead of Gemini. I refuse to opt into it on my 9 Pro
