Seriously though, this one hits very close to home. I've managed a Crowdstrike instance in a previous role, and it is a great AV. Way better than any other one I've dealt with, with really good, robust features. They're going to get rightfully dragged through the mud, but if they don't make it out of this, the security world lost a good one.
Intel to layoff more than 15% of workforce — 15,000 or more employees — encountered Meteor Lake yield issues, suspends dividend holy shit
Everyone lost their minds when my company cut 2% of our workforce last year. 15% is insane. They're going under.
Man, I really want a Galaxy S24 Ultra but .. they're too big. I mostly use my phone w one hand. Having to use two to type would drive me nuts, I'm too used to gesture typing at this point. I purposely get the smaller base models of phones for this reason, even if it means less features. Really dug the size of my old S21. My Pixel 7 is a good size, but a tiny bit bigger. Id prefer even smaller.
I know the pixel 9 is just about to release but best buy has some ridiculous deals on the 8. $200 discount off the retail price and then either $150 if you trade in for the 8 or $200 for the 8 pro. I'm trading in my 7 for $260 ($110 base) and getting the 256BG 8 for $350. The 9 isn't super appealing, I don't care about Gemini and the 8 seems a decent enough upgrade over the 7. Especially with the 8 getting 7 years of updates compared to the 3 years of the 7.
Nice! Feel like I've seen mixed reviews of the 8 on Reddit. But I also have seen mixed reviews for the 7 which I honestly love. Pixel gestures are so much smoother than Galaxy gestures and I can't go back to using nav buttons on the bottom just to circumvent that. I actually got a prompt on my phone the other day asking if I want to use Gemini, with the disclaimer that it can't do some things that Assistant can. Hell no! Lol why would I do that then.
Yeah, I feel like reddit is always full of mixed reviews lol. I had no problems with the 7, I really like this phone. I just don't see the 7 retaining this TIV or BB keeping this deal for much longer, and once the 9 actually comes out places will stop stocking the 8, especially places that allow trade-ins. Like, Amazon has deals on the 8 all the time but they don't accept trade-ins. I don't need 2 phones! Lol. And I don't think the 9 with its heavy focus on Gemini is worth the crazy price increase tbh.
I just hoping to hold out on the 10, cross my fingers that the Tensor chip finally gets a bigger upgrade. That and I stupidly got a 3 year contract on this phone so it's taking forever to pay off. But man, I am jealous the 9 will have the ultrasonic finger print reader! That was my favorite thing about my S21. Highly accurate, worked even with wet fingers. Plus, it doesn't blind you in the dark.
Yeah the 10 is an ideal upgrade goal of mine too and I HOPE Google doesn't focus on Gemini and making it the focus ...it's gonna be the 10th Gen in really hoping they do something special. I don't wanna be on the 8 forever but it's just my safety net for now and I wouldn't mind trading up to the 10 if it looks good. Yeah that ultrasonic fingerprint reader looks great! There's a lot of stuff I like actually, but the whole Gemini stuff....I just DON'T care lol. Take all that away and I'd get the phone no problem at all.
Got my Galaxy Buds 3 Pros in the mail today and they're really good. I was nervous bc there have been report of quality control issues and recalls in some countries, but I got a wicked good preorder discount deal ($93 instead of $250) so I figured I'd at least try them and return them if needed. That plus the protection plan is costing me like $3 a month with Samsung financing. Less than a cup of coffee. So, whatever. Sound is fantastic for ear buds. The preset eq settings unfortunately were very bad unfortunately, but I found some custom eq settings an audio engineer recommended and holy moly. Massive difference. The dual physical drivers add a lot of fine grained control. Very good call quality. My fiance said she could hear me perfectly and couldn't tell any difference between these or when I call her over Android Auto in my 2019 Civic. Said it sounded HD. Sadly 360 audio doesn't work on non-Samsung devices, so that's a bummer with my Pixel. But I tried it with my Galaxy Tab S8 and wow. It works incredibly well, from any app. Not just one single music app like on Airpods. This works on any video, any music app. No quality issues at all. There were reports of seams not lining up, the lights not being even between the two, and tearing of the ear tips when removing them. I removed and put on new ear tips 3 times in a row, no problems. The lights are even. So are the seams. Only complaint is the ANC is pretty bad. I could hear my fiance counting change on the table next to me, could hear the TV slightly, all while playing music. And it's completely useless if you don't have music playing. Does not cancel out the sound of my fiance's snoring when no music is playing lol. But idk, maybe I'm just to used to my over-ear Sony WH1000XM3 headphones. Maybe I'm asking too much of ear buds? Anyways. So far an 8/10 product for me, but I really have to do some thorough testing to be sure.
... I do wish my ears didn't suck. These things keep falling out with every tip size. But it happens with most buds I try. Other than the Pixel buds, but they still aren't perfect. Hope someone makes some memory foam ones or something in the future with more size options.
Glad I've got a couple still, I like these things. The dongle is actually snappier with no lag than the actual android OS installed on my Smart TV, it's weird. Also Pixel 9 preorders up. Meh trade-ins, if the 9 wasn't so expensive they'd be better I feel. Also not sold on Gemini AI. https://store.google.com/us/collection/offers?hl=en-US
It's weirdly snappier than the UI of my 2019 Nvidia Shield TV Pro box that needs to be rebooted every few days because it becomes unresponsive haha Yeah, I think Gemini still needs a lot more work
