Digging the official Pixel case

 

Just an update because I’m geeking out and have few other outlets: I got Calibre-Web (the prettier, more customizable non-native Calibre server) up and running, which allows anyone on my network to download eBooks directly to their Kindle or other device. I registered my IP so my next project is to find a secure way to open it up to the internet.

 

Whoa. I had no idea Calibre Web/Server was a thing haha.

How's the quality? I remember when I first got my 7 I was eyeing the official case but it looked like a smooth plastic and I didn't know if it would be slippery to hold. I ends up getting a Ringke case and its plastic has a nice gritty texture that gives it a good grip. Gotta admit tho, the official ones look beautiful.

 

Incredibly slippery for the first week or two, but over time it's much more grippable. I hated that at first but it was so pretty that I wanted to see if it changed as I broke it in haha

Feels high quality otherwise

 

Fuck yeah, US-East-1 in AWS goes down a WEEK after we implemented disaster recovery to fail over to US-East-2

anyone ever gotten this? Real emails from amazon (double checked they were in my account's message center) but I don't see any orders or charges or anything, still concerning... changed my password. Kind of dumb if it's a mistake on their part.

Pissed I still owe like $500 on my P7 because the Verizon edition of everything is overpriced

 

While I'm happy with the P7 I'll be interested to see what the trade-in will be towards the 8.

Also supposedly Android 14 should be out tomorrow too. 13 was a smooth transaction so hopefully tomorrow is also.

 

Ooh had no idea 14 was already coming. Should be interesting to see how slow a major update like that will be, this thing takes forever with updates haha
