I am SO prepared to let my bias of her attitude and current persona affect my opinion of what will probably be a catchy jam.

 

I'm bitter af she'll probably stop the Latin takeover of despacito from breaking the record smh!!! I love Mariah's song but if anyone is gonna beat it I'd like it to be them and they were in the clear. Oh well.

been reading all over twitter that this first single is supposed to be close to 9 minutes long......wtf

There is a twisted part of me hoping it is a total and complete flop and we get a Taylor Swift: Recovery in a couple years

 

I honestly don't get why people are talking about "this roll out" like something crazy has happened. She literally teased a snake gif and then revealed cover art. That is is....

 

But her emai...I mean her font!

 

by roll out I mostly mean the imagery and vibe she's going for. it's too early to know but everything she does is so carefully calculated that I can't imagine all of this being important to the introduction of the record. and I'm not sold yet

 

Yeah but they were corny and easy to make fun of, and why not release a song with the visuals?

 

Gotcha, I'd definitely call that more of the vibe, or theme of the cycle rather than the rollout itself, but I get what you mean.

Even so, this still sounds extremely calculated to me, just because we don't see the full picture doesn't mean it doesn't make sense

 

song today! Same reason any rollout does one thing at a time or not, just the choice made by her and/or her team. They wanted to tease stuff all week instead of all at once, other artists/teams do it differently but they chose it this way

 

i agree there. i think it all makes "sense" i just don't know if this is leading up to something truly enjoyable and not something entirely cringy. guess we'll find out tonight.

Idk how much faith to put in Perez Hilton lol, but apparently according to him the song will be "dark", long, and "not a conventional single", and other more conventional singles will follow. If this really is like a promo single only that'd be an interesting move.

I always feel bad but I kinda love a good flop. Its like sports team talk when ppl tease a losing team. Most of my faves are that flop losing team so I always have a good time with it lol.
