I have a STRONG feeling this will either be really surprisingly good and unexpected in a bold way, or laughably awful. There's not gonna be a middle ground with THIS rollout lol
Honestly you're all being very dramatic about this album based solely on the cover art. Nothing else has been weird about this rollout. She's been teasing all week leading up to a stream of the single Thursday night before widescale release on Friday along with an album announcment. It's the most standard album rollout imaginable for an artist as big as her.
Like almost every Taylor Swift single I will hate it until I listen to it 47 times and then I'll love it
I think it's ok to say it's a bit weird with the cover art with her name splattered everywhere with the gangster like font in a very kanye esque fashion and rolling with a snake reveal.
Yeah idk not super concerned yet. Her lead singles pretty much never resonate with me and she's always extremely corny and extra. Nothing is as embarrassing as her "and this time I'm naming names!" Speak now promo when she also pretended to hate the speculation of her songs so idk she's just being Taylor to me idk. Her image always kinda sucks to me but the songs usually turn it out
To be fair, I'm not a fan of how most pop stars present their image, so I'm probably not one to go to. I am just personally turned off by the self-obsession.
I get that, I'm not saying the cover art isn't laughable/bad (I'm not a fan at all). Just seems weird to already start calling this a flop and/or saying the music is probably going to be bad. Lots of albums have terrible covers with great music. Not disagreeing. The cover art is weird for sure. The rollout has not been weird. The snake thing was just teaser videos. It's over the top, but nothing here seems crazy or implies to me this music will be any better or worse than any of her previous output.
I got "newspaper title font" and not "gangster like" font from this myself. I don't think it's amazing. But it's perfectly fine album art as far as I'm concerned.
It's probably not an 8:47 long single... maybe it starts at the 8:47 mark on the record, with the first three songs taking up 8:46 (short intro then two regular length tracks?)
tbf Timberlake's Mirrors was about that long, just had a shorter radio edit also could be the length of the music video or something or it could all be fake who knows
the "reputation" font for sure looks like late 90s early 00s gangster rap font to me. The other fonts look more newspaper-y
