I'm super late on this, but my very good friend went to the award show last week and she got to meet Taylor during a commercial break. After 13 years of trying all she could, it finally happened!
End Game isn't my fave still cause me and Ed don't jive, but "And I bury hatchets but I keep maps of where I put 'em" is one of my fave Taylor lines
I think the most frustrating part of Reputation for me is that there are legit parts of it I love but then parts of it I don't like at all like I wanna like it but she puts something in every song for me to go ehhhhh that stops me just short. Still like it more than 1989 tho.
Most of the moments of reputation that I wasn't sold on at first grew on me over time, there's not much I don't like now
I didn't care much for 1989. Its my least fave album of hers. I do plan on going back to it at some point and I imagine it will have grown on me but I'm still pretty burnt out on the big singles so I haven't revisited yet
What have people’s thoughts been on Miss Americana or City Of Lover? I didn’t find COL anything too special (although keen to see what happens when the tour properly begins next year). I loved Miss Americana though. I’ve enjoyed seeing her finally get more politically involved.
I agree. My wife and I had City of Lover in the background whilst we played a game - nice to hear her perform some live songs but nothing special. Miss Americana was an enjoyable documentary and, as casual fans who don't know anything about her life, we both said she had grown in respect and admiration for her. A great watch.
