This much more chiller and confidenter and gooder than last one. Love the faux-retro electronic elements floating and glimmering in the background at their own lovely pace. Very Italians Do It Better at times.

It sounds good but I'm also simultaneously just getting really sleepy.

My swiftie gf turned it off after four songs “I can’t do this shit again”

Love menacing Dessner on So Long, London. Makes me dream that the National go back to that artsy fartsy Scandinavian artist colony they spent time at before dropping their best record Sleep Well Beast and go full glitchy dark Natty on us someday.

Reminding people of/bringing back up a month long rebound fling you had with Matt Healy who most people either did not know (they were dating) or completely forgot (well; the less terminally online folks/casual fans) is certainly a choice haha.

  7. One hour in and the internet has decided what every single song is about I see. :crylaugh:

Halfway through this and taking a pause. There's some REALLY high highs. First impression is that this is vibey as hell, variations on a theme, feels cool

Early impressions: Better than my first listen of Midnights but very one note. Missing a new level, which means the over exposure becomes a factor and it just feels … ok? And a little lacking.

    the Starting Line reference rules

If you told me this was a bunch of bsides or (fake) versions of the vault tracks I’d believe you.

this roll out has bugged me and felt exploitative

if I was a consultant for a career (lol no one cares what I think at this level) .. I’d recommend a break, a reset, and work on the songs until they don’t feel like lesser versions of what you’ve don’t before

Kind of funny, but I’m just realizing that she’s never written a full breakup album before.

By the end of this album I came out very impressed, she takes way more risks than I expected, this album has no hit singles but so many details and some truly amazing production

I think this will end up a little underrated because it sounds so much like midnights and we're on the edge of real taylor fatigue but honestly it is super great for a lot of it
