I hope Taylor’s stans don’t bully the writer for daring to rewrite their queen.

As someone who sat through Cats in theaters I personally think it's good that she's getting involved in the filmic arts again. I'm sure it'll go great.

(One of my funniest theatrical outings ever - it was NYE and the crowd was both trashed and increasingly, and loudly, irate at how horrible it was.)

I mean, lest we forget, she has been involved in the filmic arts since Cats.

i don't find her to be a compelling actor either, so screenwriting/directing might be a better route for her in the film sphere

Ok but we know Chappell is not coming this year, so that kinda kills any legitimately

It's saying her song is big atm.

    Ah, got it

  9. Remember rumors coming from the same outlets starting around this time for Midnights as well, probably going to be an October release again

Please have some new collaborators. PLEASE.

  11. I've been of the "kinda hope she takes more time off than expected to refresh and reinvent and mix it up" because I kinda assume when it's all so close together we'll get a lot more of the last two albums which have blended together for me. Just a big giant chunk of material that I don't think I ever really experienced or sunk my teeth into.

Based on how much I adored TTPD and the extra Midnights tracks this will be the most excited I've ever been for a new Taylor album.

I'd also be fine if she did the whole record with Jack and Aaron again haha.

I say this as someone who really loves the 2020 records: I never want to hear another new song in the "Taylor sings over a sparse, repetitive Aaron Dessner piano track" category, ever again. We have more than enough of those.

The VMAs are coming up, so if there’s an announcement, I imagine she’s saving it for that.

I think I've mentioned it in this thread, but I really haven't enjoyed the songs that start as Aaron tracks then she sings over them, I really appreciate the fully collaborative efforts from start to finish the most

I wonder if this album will be more pop bangers or stick with the synth pop she has been doing on the last two records? Or something completely different? As big as TTPD was on the charts and in sales, I feel like not many people were really talking about the album last year and it did not have a breakthrough hit. Compared to Chappell, Sabrina, Charli, Kendrick and Billie at least. So I wonder if she’ll want to get an album out that has smash hits and has everyone talking or continue with more of the same.

  17. Less of the same would be welcomed by me

My off the cuff guess is that Travis makes her happy and we're gonna get some upbeat bangers

As someone who was very sick of Taylor last year because of the oversaturation yet enjoyed TTPD, I'd welcome new stuff from her at this point. This year's been very sparse on the Billboard and I honestly miss her upbeat songs.

There have been a lot of rumors she’s been working with Swedish producers (but not those two); everyone assumed it was for Rep (TV), but…

Elvira and Luka? maybe hot off their work with Addison Rae (plus Elvira has done a lot with Taylor before)

I think some of them are great, but it usually depends on her ability to find space for a good chorus, IMO. Which, given what Dessner does with his tracks, is just not always possible.

Not to be an “old man rock guy,” but I still would love a rock-tinged album from her. But it feels like the chance for that moment is over.
