There’s twenty minutes until the show starts so I think if she was attending they would have promoted it by now (Taylor Nation and/or the AMA’s) so I think we will just be getting pre-recorded acceptance speeches tonight from her. I think that lowers the chance of something being announced tonight (although I could be wrong).

i'm gonna go out on a limb and assume nothing's happening tonight, but i'd be happy to be proven wrong

At most I'm guessing a video acceptance that reveals rep release date

This show is so bizarre…most of the big names no showed which I expected but they aired almost none of the big awards (Album of the Year, Best Touring Artist, Song of the Year, Faborite Pop Album, etc.) and are about to end the show with a Rod Stewart performance despite having so many awards unannounced. Billie won artist of the year and that’s the only major award shown.

I can't help but chuckle every time the Swifties are "certain" something is going to happen and then absolutely nothing happens. Could it be that their deity is simply taking a year off after a five-year span that saw her release four new albums, re-record four old albums, and mount the biggest tour in the history of planet earth?

Agreed, let Taylor take a few years off to avoid burnout.. she's more than earned it after all the hard work she's done with the tour and albums and re record albums she's released

and then some of them get angry at Taylor, Taylor Nation, whatever awards show show or event is happening all over a theory or scenario you (incorrectly) assumed to be true without any confirmation lol

I mean, truly taking off is not her thing, we all know she’s been in the studio. But the timing of release is never certain.

  11. I just think it’s crazy that the final two TV albums still aren’t out yet. Yeeeeesh!

I'm still fairly certain they'll be out this year, right on time

Debut turns 20 next year so I could see that one out in 2026.

  14. I just want her to be done with all this rerecording stuff and move on to the next thing with a clean slate

And by clean slate, may it also include all new producers for a bit.

I personally have needed a little time away from Taylor Swift everything, so I can't imagine how she feels!

LOL imagine getting angry about it. Be angry at yourself! You made it up!

She did bow out of the limelight for a bit the last time she thought she was getting "overexposed," after 1989, and she was way, way more overexposed during the Eras Tour and TTPD period than at any point during the 1989 cycle, so I can see her leaving 2025 as a completely down year. At least in terms of releasing stuff or showing up at awards shows; I'm sure stuff is happening behind the scenes.

I think the theories and speculation are fine to an extent, Taylor is the biggest artist out there currently and her eventual upcoming releases are always going to have interest. However, I think the issue comes with the fact that some Swifties are only invested in Taylor so when she is on a break or in a down period these people do not know what to do vs people who are fans of many artists so when one artist you love is in between album cycles or on a break you have others to look forward to throughout the year. This is where you get the more out there theories that some of the fans make up and then get angry do not come to fruition, because that is what fills these folks time (dedicated to thinking about music) during the break.

    I do not exist.

To an extent, she encourages it though. If she actually said I’m having X months off, would the hardcore swifties be able understand that? Yes, they’d probably be looking for signs pointing to the end of the period, but might get rid of the anger. Ultimately, she thrives in the mystery and has incorporated this into her brand - but the consequence of that is as you have described.

Not that the hardcore “fans” of hers are vindicated in their obsessive behavior or if they truly got upset about something not coming true, but like @awakeohsleeper said she absolutely plays into the theories, the Easter eggs, the mystery, etc. She purposely leaves the clues and loves the mystery of it, which of course some fans have taken way further than necessary.

What gets me is that typically her Easter eggs are fairly straightforward

    Fan theories are typically not

But yet they continue having all these convoluted theories that kinda sound maybe plausible if you read enough of them, until you remember they almost never come true

I cannot imagine only liking/caring about one artist. Like, how do you get to the point of investment where you love anyone's music so much that you obsess over easter eggs and "clues," but also not have that investment with any other musical artist? Is it just because stan culture is so competitive and fans feel like they have to "pick a side" rather than listen widely? The entire concept is insane to me.
