i'm happy with it but it's a shame that it seems to mainly be a legacy win if nothing else

 

I went through the nominees these last few weeks. To me based on my personal tastes I felt that Brat was the best of that bunch.

 

BRAT is my favorite of the bunch as well, but Beyoncé obviously deserves A grammy for AOTY, and the Grammys consistently don't matter, so I'm all for them giving it to her this year because they didn't for her better albums, whatever.

 

Beyoncé seemed WAY more shocked at the country win than the AOTY win.

 

that’s because even she knows her album was bad

 

I said this in the other thread, but I wish they'd just given it to her for self-titled so we could have avoided a decade-plus of "Do the Grammy's actually hate the artist they've awarded more than anyone ever?!"

Cowboy Carter being, conservatively, the fifth best album nominated for AOTY last night, feels like a bit of bummer win to me, considering how good the category was this year. But I'm also glad that none of the other potential winners will now have to deal with being the person who blocked Beyonce from a win, again.

What’s your ranking ? I think it’s a great project. Between the album and history lesson it’s great. But as an album it’s not really something I’m going to return to a bunch.

New Blue Sun is cool. I can't stand Jacob Collier's stuff, he is the epitome of a brilliant technical musician who can't rein that into actual good music
