“Every day, I would run on the treadmill, singing the entire set list out loud,” Taylor said. “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”

This is an impressive workout, even for a seasoned runner. Runner’s World estimated that Tay ran about 16 miles during each of her workouts, using beats per minute in each of her setlist's songs to guess how far she ran.

It's been cool if she dropped the specific paces on the songs tho

Respectfully, she was not running 16 miles a day.

Are you telling me the first source that I found on Google and skimmed instead of reading entirely didn't accurately calculate how much she ran???

Tbh I can't even run 1 mile straight and I'm reasonably active so I have no idea what the above active person runs typically lmao

That’d be roughly a 13.25 minute mile or so. Which could be the alternating between jogging fast songs and fast walking the slow ones. But I’m also prone to agree she wasn’t running 16 multiple days in a row, haha.

As someone who has done 100-mile weeks, I know how exhausting they are. Taylor is obviously very fit, but she was not doing 110-miles plus per week for this thing. And that's not a judgment! It would be a bad idea for any non-runner without a substantial training base to do that, and her highly-paid professional trainers would never advise it. While it's a lengthy show, her go-to "move" is a moderate-pace walk down the stage. They're overestimating how fast the average person walks and overestimating how fast the average person jogs. I'd estimate at max she was doing 10 miles of walking/jogging a day, plus some strength training. That kind of exercise would more than prepare you for this show without leaving you physically drained and injury prone in the way that 16 miles a day would to the average or even above average person.

Call me crazy but whether she’s doing 6 or 8 or 10 or 16 miles a day it’s still a shit ton more than I’m doing lol

I did see a couple on Tik Tok that took a setlist and ran along to it. Can’t remember how far they ended up covering distance wise.

  8. I ran across the street 2 days ago and that’s the most I’ve ran since maybe 2012.

That’s the reason for my final sentence in that post, haha. Sixteen miles on back to back days is just insane for 99% of runners. If I had to guess, she was probably doing maybe 5.5mph jogs 1/3 of the time and 3.0 power struts 2/3 of the time. Which is great! The work she put in clearly was effective (and I believe it’s how Beyoncé preps, too?). Extremely easy to admire, especially for guys like us over 1,000 miles into the year.

Related: I’m hoping to run a marathon in the approx set time next weekend. Maybe I should set all these songs in a playlist and go for it (I won’t).

What marathon are you training for? You’d be tapering for DC and NYC by now, haha.

Too many slow songs on that setlist for it to be a marathon playlist!

I actually front load my playlists slow to avoid sprinting out of the gate. I still fail, but the thought counts.

My unpopular opinion is that the title track is the best thing on here. That's one of the two or three songs I'd actually care to hear again

put this whole thing on tonight for the first time in 5 or 6 months while driving back 2½ hours from Pittsburgh for an academic conference, and i think my criticisms have softened a tiny bit (being somewhat removed from the hubbub and controversies upon release). the base album is still better than the Anthology tracks as a whole, but both sides are filled with some of her best songs (and a few of her weakest). Anthology still feels like B-sides, but less like filler than it did in April. found myself overall pleased revisiting this.

It’s honestly not a great look with everything Taylor supposedly stands for and everything he has done in the past. He says in the video he made talking about the show and everything that happened that Andrea (Taylor’s mom) and Austin (Taylor’s brother) came up to him and said how big fans they are and how they’ve been following him for years and how “you get the nuances because people often make shit up about you”

I know he’s a huge Swiftie and loudly supported Taylor during the Kimye incident but he’s just not a good person at all to show support to.

He is the founder of Barstool Sports, a big media and sports entertainment company. He’s also known for doing pizza reviews on social media. He has been accused of sexual assault/harassment ('I was literally screaming in pain': Young women say they met Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy for sex and it turned violent and humiliating), racism (saying the N word), very inappropriate jokes (rape jokes), and just being an overall horrible person (if you Google him you will find numerous other stories of him being terrible)

A LOT of people (myself included before i knew more about him) gave him a pass after he adopted a shelter pup, named it Miss Peaches, and did a ton of advocacy for shelter adoptions. I got caught up in the cuteness of it not realizing his past, i just disliked the Barstool brand without realizing he was a tool. Seems like he's trying to be a different person these days, but yeah... not a good look. :-/
