It was basically "I can't believe she wrote a song about being mean to her maga friends"

Don’t forget “this is the pop version of a Falling in Reverse song.”

    The spiciest meme

As much as I can clown on aspects of the album I cannot comprehend getting a "she's leaning into MAGA" with it lol, like everything we know about her up to this point both in her music and in her very well reported about personal life has no indications of her being a MAGA supporter. At worst she's indifferent to various political plights and could use her status to bring light to more issues, but being MAGA friendly?

Please, without quoting some theory or otherwise, tell us exactly which lyrics from the song you think are her saying that people should be nice to her maga friends

If you think my post asking you to back up your statement about her lyrics by... Posting her lyrics... Is aggressive, then I got nothing for you

I think it’s reductive of what the term “cancelled” started out as, which was mainly consequences for men that assault women. To use that term for bad PR against Blake lively is fucking dumb.

The whole concept of the song is pretty dumb and tone deaf, but it's not her singing about how she wants people to be nice to her maga friends

I think that whole song is about the Blake Lively situation, and about her identifying with a friend going through something she sees as similar to what happened with Kanye and Kim around the Reputation era. Taylor continues to not understand what "cancelled" means, and the song is bad pretty much as a result of that, but I think the MAGA accusations are overstating things.

    Who are her "MAGA friends"?

Most of the internet is referring to the Mahomes when using this argument, two people who are not in any way cancelled

The song is bad, and Taylor Swift is out of touch and, as a billionaire, surely does not have “good politics.” But, it’s kinda weird and meme-y imo to say that she’s “MAGA” or whatever.

There are more ways to be annoying and politically lacking than being a Trump fan.

Oh. Yeah, I think it would be a stretch to say the song is about them.

Respectfully, can you please ban me? I’m not in the place for all this and would love to just not have the option to even comment. Thanks! Much love to you all.

This site has an option called “ignore thread” that lets you, well, ignore a thread and get it out of your feeds. Would recommend it if the conversation here is really getting you that down.

i was like “damn, sorry. i haven’t listened to the voice recordings since the week they dropped, but you know what, you’re right; i only formed an opinion on it after reading posts on chorus.fm. you’re onto something”

People who think she's maga are silly. Sis is the poster child of white feminism. Seems like someone who very strongly believes in causes that impact her directly and is a billionaire so inherently unethical and I'm consistently disappointed in her often putting her coins before other causes like I am with other billionaires, but she's not maga lol

I feel like people throw around maga and Zionist so much that they've completely lost their meanings, like Sydney Sweeney and Tate McRae aren't storming the capitol

I’d be curious how many individual people bought the album. I feel like a lot of her fans bought 3-4 copies. She’s clearly rigging the numbers with the variants and what not but I’d like a breakdown.

I kinda just feel like if you’re an artist who is confident in the work you are putting out then you should let the music speak for itself and whatever happens sales wise happens but the variants and extras tacked on to the album (that for the recent ones you have to buy multiple copies of to have everything) do make her seem a bit desperate to break Adele’s record.

  22. I’ve decided tonight that a lot of this album comes across as “I’m the cool hip rich aunt who lets you and your friends have wine at my house.”

Alternatively: "High school teacher that lets you and your friends hang out in my classroom during lunch and chimes in while y'all gossip."

Saw people online talking about how Opalite might be a dig at Travis' exes who are all black women. Now I'm just a dumb white guy so idk if that's the case but what I do know is that the line "I'm not a bitch and this isn't savage" in a different song (don't remember which one these songs all blend together) really doesn't sit right with me for a similar reason.

Always here with the reminder that Taylor once said

"My friend Ed is such a chart monger. He’s obsessed with how it works & the math of it. I don’t even get how people get a big release week, because they they sold T-shirts or they sold concert tickets with their albums."

She's always cared about sales but I think there was a turning point where she became v fixated on building up her legacy thus breaking more and more records and now we're here.
