Excited to listen through this again with the lyrics lol

 

This definitely falls off after the first few songs but remains pretty listenable throughout. Also to my ear it doesn’t sound anything at all like her last few albums!

 

Sabrina outshines Taylor vocally on the title track by a wide margin.

 

I don't get the cancelled hate. Feels like a solid rep song to me

Overall album is feels fine. Bar is really high with Taylor. Feel like only a few songs are gonna crack into my favorites but we'll see how it feels on future listens

 

“Elizabeth Taylor” is catchy as hell.

I love this whole thing, not sure why there's so much hate around it lol. Not all the lyrics are the best (to be expected) but it's a great listen

I enjoyed that! Can't wait to give it a few more listens tomorrow, but overall don't get the hate for it (but kind of expected it) and found it to be super fun.

I think that's the overall theme of this one - keeping it simple. Don't read too much into the lyrics, no cryptic messages, just simple fun.

Just finished, and…well…at least we’ll always have Folklore.

I’ll give it a listen tomorrow with a full night’s sleep at least, but I dunno about this one at all. “Listenable” is as far as I can go right now.

Favorite song is Ruin The Friendship.

 

Liked the closer a good amount, though the fading outro feels kind of off to me. Almost feels like it should’ve just been left at full volume without the crowd noise.

Really enjoyed the first three, then I think this falls off really hard aside from “Ruin the Friendship” and the title track. “Wi$h Li$t” isn’t bad.

There’s something kind of interesting here (at least through the first 5 tracks) with the drums and bass. Really groovy in a way I can’t remember her songs being. That part of the album kind of feels like Evermore but bops.

Yeah, if there’s one thing that definitely stands out to me here, even on the songs I don’t particularly care for, it’s the bass lines and groove. It does make the whole thing feel decidedly different than Midnights and TTPD, even if the tempo is a little slower than I/many had hoped given the producers.

yeah this doesn’t sound anything like her recent albums to me. i liked it well enough on first listen, don’t think it will be my favorite taylor album but i can see it getting some play. i think i actually enjoyed the middle of the album best lol

 

Wait Cancelled is actually really cool. That chorus might be my favorite groove. Feels very Lavender Haze.

 

Pop Taylor is what I NEEDED. TTPD did absolutely nothing for me. This is such a step up in many ways.

 

I’m a bit bummed there’s no huge “22” or “Never Getting Back Together” Max Martin bangers on here. This could be produced by anyone.

“Actually Romantic” is a Weezer song.

“Ruin the Friendship” is my favorite I think.

“Elizabeth Taylor” rules. “Cancelled” is cool too.
