all the number 47 easter eggs in that podcast meant 47 vinyl variants

The official artwork is my least favorite so far. Kinda regret not ordering that last one.

I ordered an orange one originally and I'm doing my best to hold out on these others.

    Both variants sold out now.

  11. tbh it's nice that Taylor is selling a single LP at 29 bucks - shipping and tax fuck it up but this should be a 30 dollar record at local shops which is nice considering

I don't want to get bonked too hard, but uhhhh, the art direction for this album has had her sex appeal shoot through the roof for me personally.

Not saying any more about that on here, haha

Ain't this always how it goes?

My wife's texts to me about today's countdown were "I don't need another color vinyl." and then "Oh, I really love the blue." to "Are we getting both? How much time is left in your queue?"

But we only really do this for Taylor Swift, and if this is the one thing my wife wants to collect, then let her have it, I say.

The chat is mysterious and important.

I'm in that weird bizarro world where my wife couldn't care less about this stuff, and I'm the solo one obsessing over vinyl variants when "we could just listen on Spotify." :crylaugh:

It started out with it being her thing, but as the years have drown on, my enjoyment of Taylor has grown exponentially. I feel like Red (which came out the year we got married) was the first time where I bought myself throwing on her music without my wife in the car. I loved 1989, and obsessed myself with the song Clean being perfect. Took me a while to come around to Reputation. Somewhere around Midnights I suddenly felt like I had become a full fledged Swifty without even noticing.

We collected as much TTPD stuff as we could, but missed out on several things with it. (Especially that damned briefcase.)

I know there will be a point where we can't keep up with this cycle, and might even decided we don't want everything we've preordered, but as soon as it was advertised as "limited" we knew that we couldn't hesitate on it.

All of this to say that my we haven't had my turntable set up for a few years now as my youngest kiddo is autistic and fascinated with spinning and opening/closing things. One day we can put it back out and enjoy spinning our collection, but it is not this day.

I knew I’d end up buying the one with this alternative cover based on the CD variants, so I opted for the “Lovely Bouquet Golden” variant, which is the non-glitter one. However, I had no idea about today’s countdown, so I was surprised I didn’t have to wait for checkout and finished ordering at 11:45 a.m. I was relieved to get in before the cutoff (though I know all of these will show up again as a final drop before release B-)). I’ll keep both the original cover and this one, as I love the original cover art.

I really dislike that this kind of artificial scarcity around vinyl variants is just her *thing* now.

Side note: if anyone’s looking for 1989 TV or TTPD variants, I’ve got a few extra sealed ones that need new homes off of my shelf.

Not jumping on the vinyl bandwagon when it became popular is one of the best economic decisions I’ve made and I’m reminded of it every Taylor album release

Yeah I tried to be into vinyl but I never "got" it aside from just being bigger key art. I far prefer how HQ digital files sound on my nice speakers

I never got into vinyl either mostly because I just listen to everything digitally and I use the money I would spend on vinyl on other concert tickets/merch (obviously in addition to general life expenses and other entertainment)

I already don't even know what the official artwork is and what the variants are. But I saw this picture and it is my favorite and I wish it was the one and only. I love a burgundy moment tho

Also I was skimming Instagram comments for some reason and the youths were talking about being so excited about finding her debut with the gay line at thrift stores and others were saying how lucky they were to find it and I'm like oh now I feel like OLD old.
