Thanks for letting us know, Matt Belloni....

I can’t believe there was a countdown to a “shiny bug” variant.

She should make a comic book, for how much she’s tossing out all these variant covers.

It's amazing watching someone like Taylor that has zero sex appeal try hard to piggyback off of Sabrina. The lack of authenticity has always been one of my biggest gripes about her but this is quite an entertaining cycle in particular.

Yeah, this art is pretty terrible, but I get the theme. Taylor however is undeniably gorgeous?

Also, not to yuck anyone’s yum, but Sabrina has the sex appeal of a Bratz doll.

art is fine. even my sister who doesn't like Taylor's music/says it's too millennial or bland says she really likes the photography/art for this album

I mean, Sabrina Carpenter decided to make sexuality the cornerstone of her lyrical brand on her sixth album cycle. Where does that fall on your “authenticity” meter?

Sex appeal discussion aside, I do think there is something interesting in Taylor essentially stamping her approval on Sabrina these last few years. On a tour of that scale it’s hard to know just how much time they spent together, but clearly they became close. Now with Sabrina introduced to Jack and producing “Man’s Best Friend”, I wonder if that had any impact on Taylor’s timing to turn back to Max Martin. To include Sabrina on the title track of this album is pretty wild, for both of them. I don’t know how to explain it, but it does feel like a calculated move on Taylor’s part. Not quite a passing of the torch, but more like a subtle cannibalizing of Sabrina’s own rise to fame.

This conversation maybe got a bit too “straight cis dudes rate and compare women’s bodies” with some of those posts, lol.

    It's Taylor... everything is calculated.

Not a hetero man so maybe not a good barometer…but nothing Taylor has ever done has ever felt “sexy” in the way something like a Madonna or Ariana track felt in the past.

…and that’s a good thing. I don’t think that fits her brand and would feel really kind of weird. Her brand is not sex…it’s cute, relatable, campy, and clever.

I love the art for this era, it's easily one of my favourite aesthetics she's ever had and she looks amazing.

I've always found Taylor to be very authentically herself, even as she explores different styles and sounds.

  14. it's a bummer that Taylor had some sort of beef with Oli Rod. Those two collaborating on something could have been very fun.

Taylor cannibalizing Sabrina's fame? Does Sabrina even have fame without Taylor taking her on tour? What even are we talking about.

No one will ever convince me that Taylor's very strong co-signs of Sabrina and Gracie in recent years weren't at least partially motivated by whatever the hell went down with Olivia Rodrigo.

I feel the same about Taylor and Chappell. They could create magic together. But as the kids say, "the vibes are off."

I made a point similar to this in Sabrina’s thread. I don’t know how to articulate my point here without going full conspiracy theory haha.

Taylor is best friends with Jack. Taylor also knows it’s time to move on from Jack creatively, but doesn’t want any bad blood between them. So what she does is she raises the profile of a young pop star who has years of success ahead of her, and then introduces them. Now Jack has his muse for the next decade, Sabrina prints money as her star only grows, and Taylor can now move on to other projects without regret. Max Martin for TS12 and Nathan Chapman for TS13, which I would suspect to be a country album.

This is my full tinfoil hat reading of the situation.

To be clear, I am not proud to have cooked this up!

My post will age like single malt scotch and we can revisit this in December 2027 when TS13 is announced! You’ll all see! :crylaugh:

Taylor didn't move on from Jack creatively, they are always hanging out and in the studio together, he worked on whatever rep and s/t end up being, we'll get so much more music from them in the future, she just also made 12 songs without him.... She made 16 songs without him on TTPD

Right, but by then Jack was already working with Sabrina on Short N Sweet! The timelines are not completely aligned, and I don’t have enough willpower to actually cite dates on this crackpot theory.

Also, I think Jack probably would have been fine without Taylor having to pre-build him a pop star, lol. It's not like the dude doesn't get work from other artists.

There's no theory, Jack works with so many different artist at the same time
