I love it because the kids I work with love it. I work with this group of Asian girls who just love that they feel seen and represented and it's super cute hearing them belt it out along to the radio

The movie is cute and has a cute message about being yourself and being vulnerable and female friendship so I am all in support of golden

Plus, I'm a sucker for a belted chorus

I don’t ever listen to the radio but I was in my girlfriend’s car for like ten minutes yesterday and she had the radio on and they played Ophelia

My random Taylor thought of the day is that I wonder if it feels awkward that the celebrity pool is pretty small. Like Taylor is friends with Lorde who was on the remix with Charli. Is that not awkward or do they just not care? Or did they understand that it's music and it gets a pass? Do they gossip about it? Does it get awkward at a award shows when everyone's around at the same time?

I know real life can be this way too but I'm not confrontational so I have no idea. Anyway, I'm bored and that was my random thought when girl so confusing came on

 

I've thought about it too, and my gut take was that Lorde and Taylor probably aren't friends much anymore, but I dunno!!!!!

that's my thought too, but i don't really put much stock into who's friends with who because it ultimately doesn't matter

 

In that specific case I would hope that Taylor could see the very obvious separation that Charli & Lorde were working on their own friend issues, and that not every friend needs to abide by your own misgivings of someone barring the person being actually fucked up. If anything I'd be more understanding of Charli feeling a type of way after Actually Romantic lol, but even then I doubt she'd stop Lorde from being friends with her

 

I assume they only see each other at the elite blackmail orgy / adrenochrome parties, where such petty differences are routinely set aside.

 

I just don't think I could ever be a celebrity because I would be such a gossip like I know it's their job but I'm also the person at the work meeting who has a side group chat going to commentate and be petty lol. I would be excommunicated from the celebrity cult immediately for not keeping my mouth shut

 

Paris Hilton said that she used to tell people in her circle fake stories about her to see which ones ended up in the tabloids so she could pinpoint which so-called friend was selling stories about her.

And I wouldn't sell stories about my fellow celebs if I was one. But if I was Lorde I would definitely have like text Chappell Roan after Actually Romantic came out to be like "GIRL can you believe??? What's going on?!"

I often also wonder how close celebrities really are to each other. You see celebs at sporting events or getting out of cars together and I wonder if they actually maintain close, active friendships and this is just them being visible for once or do they do these things with more casual/less close friends too, in the way we might run into people we sorta know at parties and spend time talking to them (e.g. hey I’m going to the lakers game, wanna get to know each other?”). How many close celeb friends can you realistically have when everyone’s touring or filming or lives across the country?

 

It certainly varies from celeb to celeb to relationship individually, like clearly Taylor and Selena have a real and deep friendship

Saw sabrina carpenter last night (fantastic) and Ophelia came on between sets and the whole arena was singing it. Song is so good.

might have said it elsewhere but that song still feels like country imagine dragons to me, from the voice effects to the music

I always think of that interview with Aaron Dessner where he mentioned sending her a piece of music he’d been working on and then he left to go for a run. When he came back she had sent back a fully fleshed out song with complete lyrics, vocal harmonies, etc. and he was like “holy shit. Never seen anything like it.”
