I only began listening to her stuff once Folklore and Evermore dropped. Any albums released prior to that I've only heard the 'Taylor Version' of or none at all. So I haven't listened to self titled, Reputation, Lover, or the TV of Fearless yet. Of the albums I have listened to:

    1) Red TV
    2) 1989 TV
    3) Midnights
    4) Folklore
    5) Evermore
    6) Speak Now TV
    7) Tortured Poet's Department

  7. evermore looking quite a bit lower than folklore in folks' rankings

on the contrary, folklore and evermore are 1 and 2 in my rankings, respectively. Red is 3. i have great memories of experiencing those first two at midnight as they dropped during COVID, and each one felt really fitting for the seasons they were released in.

I admire people who can concretely rank Taylor’s catalog. I don’t think there’s another artist I can name where this becomes such a struggle for me. I think this is largely due to me becoming a fan over the pandemic and not having lived with the songs sufficiently long enough. If I pick my favorite song from each album, does that mean they are my favorite eleven songs of hers? I am just not sure that is the case. But then which album do I take 2 songs from, or maybe 3? It really is tough.

I have an easier time picking out highlights from Evermore but Folklore is a better full album experience.

  15. well this was going to be my question - is it like a Kid A/Amnesiac thing? Same sessions?

i remember she mentioned some were leftovers but others were written after. i think i remember her saying after she, Aaron, and Jack did the Disney+ special, she presented tis the damn season to Aaron and they worked on it that night

Kind of. I don't think they're the same sessions but consider it more like an extension of her exploring that sound/collaboration style.

    Folklore
    Evermore
    1989

Those are my top three. I got into her with 1989, but didn’t love an album of hers until Folklore.
