To be fair, a Taylor number 1s collection would be missing most of her best songs.

    The full list:

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
    Shake It Off
    Blank Space
    Bad Blood
Look What You Made Me Do
    Cardigan
    Willow

The weird thing about Taylor is that most of her best songs/singles never hit #1 on the charts. According to wikipedia, WANEGBT was her first #1 (I thought it was Love Story, but it peaked at 4 and You Belong With Me/I Knew You Were Trouble both peaked at 2). Shake It Off, Blank Space, Bad Blood, LWYMMD, Cardigan, and Willow are her only other #1s.

very true. But we got time.

I’d argue The Beatles 1’s is missing a lot of their best song as well.

Kinda shows you how much streaming changed things when Style, Wildest Dreams, and Delicate were *everywhere* and still couldn't make it.

  6. I guess she'd just have to do a Greatest Hits or Singles collection so she could include all the hits and not just the ones that went to #1.

When she announced these re-recordings and their purpose, I fully expected her to release a greatest hits album first with everything re-recorded.

I mean Taylor Swift’s career is probably going to go on for another 40 years. I think we’re only thinking in terms of what she’s put out. She’s gonna put out a ton more stuff, maybe she won’t be able to fill out an entire “1” collection, but maybe. She is always thinking ahead in terms of her career.

what’s crazy is The Beatles did what they did in like 7 years.

I can't believe "Love Story" didn't go to number 1. Just goes to show how siloed off country was at that time.

You're not wrong, but by virtue of have 27 number 1s in the US and/or the UK, they had slightly more of their best songs top the charts.

Probably the whole weird country or pop dynamic plays a part

Crazy that this song might be hitting #1 (or just charting at all) almost 10 years after its release.

  11. for this reason, I haven't actually listened to the song since her SNL performance. Gonna wait a bit before i listen to the long pond version. I refuse to burn out on all too well.

I can’t even imagine this song without the new beautiful outro (which is even better on this sad girl autumn version)

Right now I'm predicting that Adele is gonna double Red TV's sales.

it's gonna be wild to see, it's been so long since Adele's last album that I think we're going to be stunned by what she can still pull off sales-wise

  21. my wife pre-ordered one so i guess we did our part haha

I think 1.2m-1.5m would be my expectation for Adele. I don't know that Taylor gets back above 1m again in pure album sales, but I'm also not so sure that anyone else ever will, including Adele, after "30."

Adele is going to do a million in a week, which is insane because absolutely zero things about that album other than it being made by Adele would scream "mainstream juggernaut."

(We also need her to do huge numbers unless we want to end up with Morgan Wallen as our top-selling album of 2021, a fate I am not willing to accept.)

Yep, considering how 25 in 2015 did this⬇️

30 is scheduled for release on Nov. 19 and is Adele’s first album since 25, which was released in 2015 and sold 3.38 million copies in its first week in the U.S., the largest sales week for an album in MRC Data history. 30 will be released on CD, vinyl LP, cassette and digital download concurrently.”

That Morgan Wallen album was really good, but he’s a racist douche so I’ve not returned to it since release week. Pretty impressive run for a guy stonewalled from country radio for a few months (eyeroll).
