I just noticed that the original Red album’s liner notes gave us a clue to part of the story that the 10 min version of “All Too Well” mentions.

The secret code in “State of Grace” is I LOVE YOU DOESN’T COUNT AFTER GOODBYE.

 

Unpopular opinion, but Taylor probably should tell her fans to cool down when it comes to harassing people that have been mentioned in her songs. It’s the only things regarding Taylor that I can’t defend when people attack her. While I don’t think someone like Jake Gyllenhaal remotely cares about what people are saying about him on social media regarding a relationship from a decade ago, but John Mayer clearly does see the hate and it bothers him to a degree.

If I’m bothered by people like Dave Portnoy, who also have a gross army of sycophantic followers ready to attack their leader’s enemies at a moment’s notice, I’d be a hypocrite to not be bothered here.

Note: Not all Swifties are out of control cyber bullies. I’m only talking about the ones who are.

As for the discourse surrounding Taylor’s breakup music, she had the right to tell her truth then and the right to say it again now. It’s not remotely weird to express your feelings no matter how dramatic one may find them to be. People are allowed to be flawed and have feelings no matter how ridiculous they may be perceived then or now. Especially teenagers and young adults, which is what Taylor was when writing these songs.

I may have combined two different topics from today’s discussions here but whatever.

 

why am I more surprised that Jake G’s cat has so many followers than I am that Taylor’s cats don’t have their own instas by now

I've fallen for this 10 minute version of "All Too Well"; a true emotional journey that I keep going on, reminding me of moments in my own past that still hit me dearly.

 

crazy how it doesn't at all feel like it's actually 10 minutes long. it barely feels longer than the original version.

Yeah, the 10 minutes just flies by for me.

Also, god damn the Vault tracks on this as such a great collection of work. Blows the Fearless TV out of the water. I had my doubts considering things were pretty quiet leading up to this release, with no pre-release single. Now I'm beyond hyped for what's going to come with 1989.

Tbh I think at this point celebs do have a responsibility to at least say something when their fans bully and threaten others. I mean they're gonna do what they're gonna do, but idk at least try. It's not just her exes they come for. Many of them turned on Olivia Rodrigo quickly because she sent Kim K a PR box

I saw something about how she has a song about being told she's too young for the man she's dating but already feeling like she's getting too old for her career and how that's such a universal experience of being a woman tbh. Either too young and naive or already too old and burned out. I hope she feels more confidence in where she's at in her career than she did at 22

How is this long pond version going to be any different? Just a studio acoustic ish track instead of the live acoustic one that came out a couple days ago?

 

I'd guess more instrumentation, but the goal is obviously to push the single to number one! Same way they did with "willow".

 

Also my sister-in-law just got a push notification from Spotify saying a Philly show was happening Saturday Jan 29th. Gone now, who knows if it's really happening or just a fuck up from held dates.

 

I was ready to cosign the idea that celebrities have some responsibility to tell their fans to cut it out when they are dogpiling on someone or harassing them

But I honestly am not ready to cosign that idea about John Mayer today tomorrow or ever

A Philly show in January would have to be an arena (correct me if I’m wrong) and the thought of getting tickets to an arena show for Taylor makes me sick to my stomach
