I don't dislike it, but I do think it's the least consequential song on that album.

 

The Last Time is the least consequential song on Red because it's complete and utter trash.

i've honestly never understood the slander for The Last Time. i think it's fine. is it just Snow Patrol hatred or something?

 

it's so dull and brooding and the dude's voice sounds terrible, like he's a dying goat on the side of the road, crying with his last breath

 

Now I’m VERY curious to listen to this song for the first time because now I have quite the visceral idea of what a dying goat sounds like in my head and hope I’m not let down.

 

haha. It's an older goat, not a young and sprite one, so don't think of a high pitched energetic yelp, but rather a LAWSTT TIME I"M TELLUUUNN U THAASDIIISSSS

 

Yeah The Last Time was easily my least favorite song until ME! came along.

Yeah, I was a big Snow Patrol fan back around when that song came out, so I always liked it.

i like “the last time” now, shout out to the dizzying string arrangement, but when red came out i thought most of the guest spots diluted swift’s voice, which at that point had never been stronger, and “the last time” ultimately sounds more like a snow patrol song than a taylor swift song

 

i've never heard any Snow Patrol other than Chasing Cars, so i'm not sure if time has done anything to his voice, but i wonder what the 2021 recording will sound like.

 

I like the last time but I hate the clips I've seen of them playing it live. He's more forlorn or lowkey or whatever and she's doing the corny poses and the dramatic slow arm and hand movements and their energy and performance style just doesn't match at all lol


P sure she asked him to collaborate back when she was obsessed with Grey's anatomy and snow patrol was a big part of the soundtrack

She named them after siblings?? James and Betty were an item in the song but IRL the name inspos are related?? I didn't realize they also had a kid named james. I thought it was just Betty and Inez. I always thought it'd be a cool namedrop story when they're older but it's kinda weird she made them a couple in the song. Am I the only one who thinks that's odd?? I know it's only in the name but sis first trust him like a brother and now this
