We reach for the longest shadow

We are in here talking about a 10-minute pop song, LOTR is one of the most decorated movies ever, and definitely the most decorated fantasy movie trilogy of all time. I promise it's worth it if you are mildly interested in LOTR. Look at it as six two-hour long movies.

  2. a 10 minute long song is quite a bit shorter than six 2-hour long movies. but no, i'm just not really interested in LOTR, or any fantasy movies/shows at all, to be honest. i didn't even watch GOT.

LOTR rules, definitely on the "movies everyone should see in their life" list.

I just watched the two seasons of The Rings of Power, and they are very good. Ironically I started The Hobbit last night despite being told by everyone they aren't worth it, but hey... the completionist in me has to give it a shot!

They just stretched it out too long. The Hobbit was never supposed to be a multi-book story, so they added a lot of unnecessary fluff. There's a pretty well-known fan edit that combines the movies down to 4-5 hours that is actually pretty good.

I like the originals and have seen them more than a few times… I just haven’t watched the ones that add an extra hour of footage that they didn’t see as necessary the first time around. I don’t think we’re that far apart haha.

“Look at it as six two-hour long movies” as if that’s an easy time investment lol.

I'm actually watching The Hobbit movies like a TV series, one hour at a time, basically 9 episodes

I watch a lot of movies across multiple sittings. Makes it easier to fit them into a busy life schedule.

Movies, like albums, are meant to be consumed as a whole. Unless they’re inflated albums to increase streaming numbers. The extended editions are not inflated in such ways. In this essay I will…

I feel this. My wife and I tried to watch the Batman movie with Robert Pattinson and it took 4 nights due to our son being a horrible sleeper.

    Newbie

The only thing I “miss” about the height of the pandemic was having time to do all these giant movie rewatches. Over the course of 8-9 months we watched all extended LotR movies, all nine Star Wars movies, the entire MCU, and I think all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies as well.

Who cares that you’re lining up for groceries at 6 AM with latex gloves on when you’re having this much fun!

  15. Maybe the wrong thread for this, but… How are there still 2 re-recorded Taylor albums not out yet?!

I'm sure they'll be out this year, right on schedule

I wonder if we are ever gonna get those final 2 given she’s at the end the patient/copyright extensions. It’s been a year and a half since 1989 came out and almost a year since TTPD came out

I guess at this rate, we should be getting both Reputation and Debut this spring/summer and fall/winter. Fingers crossed.
