For the most part when taylor is seen its because she wants to be imo. I think she genuinely likes the pap walks and media attention as long as she's controlling the narrative, and fans who insist she's a private person are kidding themselves. She never has been imo and tends to be more or less private depending on who shes dating or if theres a "scandal." I'm not attaching a judgement to that it just is what it is. Some celebs go thru the pain and effort to be lowkey and hidden which im sure is exhausting in its own way. If I had a bunch of cute outfits and professional hair and makeup and was photogenic I can't say I'd be above a pap walk lol. Nobody will beat Heidi Montag dragging a chair out into the street to cry and pose for paps tho. Iconic.

I get that the lives they wanted to live were ultimately incompatible, but it bums me out that she’s so quickly reframed the Joe relationship as “he locked me in a house for six years!” after spending a lot of albums singing about how crucial and heathy it was for her to step back from the spotlight and hole up with seemingly the one guy on the planet who didn’t want said spotlight and wasn’t self-conscious about her being so much more famous than him. Also, 2-3 of those years, we were all locked in our houses!

 

Sometimes you don’t realize how shitty a relationship is until you’re out of it, I’ve certainly been there

 

I just feel bad for her, I think? It’s gotta be a complete mindfuck to have millions of people analyzing your every move in a relationship, thinking it ties back to Easter eggs and song lyrics.

Don’t her stans ever feel weirdly intrusive or exhausted? She’s literally become some peoples entire personalities.

tik tok (among doing many other horrible things) has really exposed in a big way how sick taylor swift super-fandom is.

 

Yeah sometimes I think it must be cool to have an infinite amount of money and do whatever you want, but then I think I literally couldn't leave my house and do anything in public without people knowing who I am. That would be exhausting beyond comprehension.

 

The football thing is compounding it even more, which is a whole thing on its own. I’m in no way a fan of her music but she seems super charitable and a decent person.

To hear my uncle last week say his favorite part of last weeks Chiefs game was watching Taylor “look like a clown cheering on her bf as they lost the game” was his favorite part made me feel so weird. Like this is a mid 60s man who has probably never heard a song of hers in his life.

 

Eras movie is a good watch, nice to actually hear her sing Cruel Summer instead of just hear the audience haha

 

Update on the Taylor CO2 emissions issue:

 

Some people adopt a star or farm animal for their bf/gf at Christmas time. Swift buys carbon credits. We are not the same.

 

The annoying part are people being like "do you expect her to fly economy???" Like not necessarily but she doesn't need to fly home for just a few hours between shows. It's unnecessary and wasteful.

 

I don't think she did that? She would fly to the city her shows were in and stay there until all the shows in that city were done, then fly home, right?

 

maybe not her shows but for travis's away games she will literally fly in the morning of the game and leave immediately after

 

My brother and his wife did that last week for the Niners game, flying in the morning of the game from San Diego and going home right after the game. Should I shame him?

 

What difference does it make if she makes her departure flight in the same day? She’s going to fly out at some point…

 

I don't think she does it every night or after every show but the source I read says she often flies home in between shows instead of getting a hotel room in that city or the next city she's playing in like most artists. Assuming the data in the articles are actually correct.

 

I think specifically for the eras tour that isn't true, I've seen far too much of her plane tracker around that time haha

 

On a very shallow note I am usually mixed on her fashion but I covet the dress she wore to her birthday. It's so cuuuute

Sometimes when I feel a sense of Taylor Swift fatigue, I have to remind myself that a lot of it has to do with the way a certain subsection of her fan base behaves and responds to things and not at all to do with Taylor herself, though I absolutely do think that some of what she does plays into the narrative that those fans live by. Still, though, there's always going to people who take it way too far.

Ultimately, for me, it's just an overload of new music in the last 3+ years. I'm such a sucker for the traditional album format, and as I've said before, I want to live with new Taylor songs for a while before immediately moving on to the next TV. It's just a lot to digest at once.
