Taylor just did Bigger Than The Whole Sky as one of the surprise songs and what an absolutely moving tribute for the fan that passed away at the first Rio show.

 

There is a lot in that interview, but the wildest thing is that the two of them got wine drunk one night and drunkenly sang Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus, I wish someone had recorded that haha

 

that was my wife's biggest takeaway too haha

 

Her wine drinking and spilling wine was the 1989/reputation version of ripped blue jeans and 3am in the rain

Yeah, this was pretty much a foregone conclusion after about three months of that album topping the charts, unfortunately. I'd hoped Midnights would have enough juice to overpower it, but no such luck.

Kind of wild to me that GUTS isn't even in the top 10.

Yeah, probably true. Especially since she was up against multiple massive double or triple albums.

 

There's a lot of good songs here of course, but this is super bleak for "rock" music

Yeah, I saw that post a couple days ago. I think @cshadows2887 had the accurate take, in that the more "sing-talk" style of both "Get Him Back" and "Bad Idea Right" might have turned some people off. But in general, I think I just overestimated how much buzz there was around her sophomore album. "Vampire" barely eked out that first-week number 1 against a Morgan Wallen song that had already been topping the charts for months, and the first-week album sales number, while solid, didn't light the world on fire. I guess I'm just surprised that she didn't have a little more juice coming off SOUR.

I think it's basically a "starter pack vinyl record" at this point. Everyone has a copy of it. Abbey Road has been one of those over the years, too.

 

Perhaps that'll help cool off ticket prices then for her tour, because I can't find anything for less than $300 a seat right now.

It's wild to me Anti Hero is that high. Like, I have seen how Anti Hero has been on the charts, but I've never felt it has the widespread reach that so many more of these songs do

 

It was like, THE TikTok song for a long time. I'm guessing that plays into it?
