Going to see the show at the drive-in on Saturday, but I doubt they’ll have the eras bucket/cup. There’s a Regal 5 minutes from my house, so I stopped on the way home from work to get it, and they said they couldn’t sell it to me until 6pm (it was 5:20 lol). I’m non-confrontational so I said ok I’ll come back later.

Just went back, and they wouldn’t sell it to me unless I bought a ticket for tonight LMAO I’m gonna lose my shit

 

I know its not going to happen but is there any chance shes doing the Clue thing where each theater actually has multiple versions of the movie to play with different surprise songs in each one of them?

completely unrelated note, but what are the chances we'd get physical copies of the film down the line? i know everyone is still set on streaming as a primary way to view new content, but i've taken up purchasing copies of stuff i like on Blu-Ray and 4K UHD the past year or two. if she bypasses streaming, i could definitely see her making the film available for purchase digitally, but one could hope she'd at least do a Blu-Ray or DVD (4K might be a pipe dream, haha).

i've got $40 in Criterion gift cards i'm planning to use during their next sale, so this would be a hilarious way to use them (although realistically i'm trying to round out my David Lynch collection, haha).

 

feels like theres a 0% chance they dont try to make as much money as humanly possible off this. a physical and digital release seems inevitable.

 

There will be a box set vinyl as well for sure

 

i'd love to think that's the case re: physicals, but i'm not sure how much of her fanbase would consider purchasing discs of her film (especially since a considerable subset talks about not having a disc drive/player to play the CD-only bonus tracks she loves).

 

A physical version absolutely will sell big numbers

Speaking of physical media, Best Buy recently announced they're phasing out DVDs/Blu-Rays/4K Discs in their brick and mortar stores starting as early as 2024.

Best Buy will no longer carry physical movies in 2024, and I am no longer whole

So...basically, they'll just sell TVs and appliances? Lame.
