I've listened to Safe & Sound as many times as any album track and this version does it justice.

The Civil Wars definitely don't sound together anymore though haha. It's dumb, but you can tell

 

all the re-recordings sound incredible to me! really vibe w the chorus of All of the Girls You Loved Before… not so into the verses on first listen tho.

 

Kinda hard to find on Spotify so I made it easy

Weird...Swifties seem to be insinuating it is for this reason but it's probably just Swifties being dumb or something

 

I've seen that, and it's possible she's leaving it off Speak Now... But it's just simply not on Fearless TV, anyone can look at the album and see that haha

 

Interesting that the og “Safe & Sound” was credited to Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars and this TV is credited to her, Joy and John. They really want to be clear this is not a Civil War reunion.

“Eyes Open” definitely has more crunch and guitars to it. It rules. A real stadium rocker.

 

Yeah The Civil Wars have been split up for a long time; no chance really they're getting back together, so Joy and John for sure recorded their parts separately

 

Yeah all of these were kind of ehhhh

 

classifying the three tracks that were very clearly released during the Speak Now cycle as being released during Fearless and Red is really annoying, tbh. although i wonder if it might have anything to do with all the legal stuff surrounding Speak Now. like is there something that says she can't call these bonus tracks from an album that she doesn't fully have the trademark for yet?

 

Maybe they’ll just move to Speak Now when it’s officially announced.

It’s insane that I played a punk show lastnight, got home at 11, went to bed, woke up at 3, took a shower, and now I’m sitting at the airport about to board a plane to a different state, and am seeing Taylor and Paramore tonight.

 

that's what i'm imagining - otherwise she'd just lump them on at the end of her other releases. have fun tonight!

 

All Of The Girls You Loved Before isn't the greatest song of all time or anything, but it's certainly better than many of the songs on that album.

 

Safe and Sound and Eyes Open sound so good with her vocal growth. Almost feel like what a natural evolution from folk/ever would be for her sound if she wanted to go that way. And I want her to explore it someday.

 

Apparently she said something tonight about all the re recordings being done

 

I figured they've been recorded, it's been so long since she started actually recording them

yeah, that's definitely not a confirmation of them being finished. does sound like a confirmation that she still intends to rerecord them though.

 

Just heard "All Of the Girls You Loved Before" for the first time. She really said this was a b-side over 8/9 songs on Lover? Smh.

 

I think it definitely feels like a b side, but still very good. Obviously I do like it more than a few album tracks too
